March Madness (not basketball)

Happy March 1st everyone! The weather has been so beautiful. The garden is marching right out of winter into spring with a madness, (enthusiasm). Although it's not officially spring. If Old Man Winter decides to make a late winter visit the gardener will be running around with madness, (rage), pulling her hair with short bursts of mumbling coming out of her mouth...hopefully this will not happen, the neighbors already think the gardener gardens with madness, (wild foolishness). This sight would only confirm their suspicions.

Petunia
Verbena
Pansies, Daffs and Dianthus
African Daisies, Stock, Petunias, not in bloom Larkspur and Clematis on the trellis.
Pear Tree
Navel Orange
We have two types of Peach trees, sorry I do not know their first names. It was a Peach Bloom in the post before last. Ya'll are smart!

My Dahlias are emerging too..I know it's early for them!

Today I am Thankful for this time of the year when the A/C and the heater both are turned off!

Your AC and heater are both turned off eh? Oh I wish!!! I still have plastic on my old wooden windows here in the house and it sags so much right now... and all of our winter clothes are looking ragged and worn - enough already, we need some Spring like you got there!

I love seeing springtime on the way. We see it here too. We don't see as much as you are but I got out and took pics yesterday. I hope it doesn't do its usual thing and a cold burst kill everything. I am also about ready to plow my garden. I am in the mood.

My favorite times of year are when the A/C and the heater both are turned off too! I like to be able to open the windows and hear the chimes and smell the garden in the house.

Wow! You already have so many flowers! I am also thankful for that special time of year when there is no need for AC or heat!! We raise the windows and listen to all those night creatures out here in the country. Have a happy Tuesday!

I think I have that same yellow petunia :0 It is loving this weather. Especially enjoyed seeing the pear, peach and orange blossoms. My neighbor has an orange tree that is heavenly to smell while I'm out enjoying the garden.

We have not had our AC/Heat unit on in two weeks! The fresh air is awesome coming through the windows! My Verbena is not blooming as of yet. I am a bit baffled by that as it is usually one of the first to bloom in spring. Oh well, cant have everything right? I will enjoy yours until mine says hello….

It is all very beautiful but where are the grapefruit blossoms?

Everything looks Rosey in your garden Darla.

Everything is looking nice Darla. I am with you on the lack of A/C and the heat. This time of year is my favorite. Stunning display of purple there. Did these come up plants that self seeded last year or did you put down new seed or plants. Now the madness you speak of - well I think that must be the case for everyone of us gardeners. My neighbors look at me funny when I go out with the camera or when I'm talking to the plants or gardens. Have a nice day sweetie.

We have the a.c. on. We're sweating as we work outdoors. But, it's not as bad as it will get, so we are still enjoying the weather.

I love all of your flowers. It looks like spring really has sprung there for you. I know you are enjoying it. I love the scent of orange blossoms.

Your garden does look very spring! Everytime I saw african daisy in the store, I wanted to buy, but I think they don't last long here in south florida. But yours are very pretty. My Diathus seems have passed the peak time, maybe because of the 80+ temps recently we had here. Happy Spring, and Gardening!

Oh, how pretty! I can just imagine you running about like a banshee in the garden, too...:)

I love your Spring garden -- I only hope that Spring quickly moves further north so we can have some of that beauty up here.
It may be a while, our furnace is running today!

I love this time of the year too, no heat or a/c. :) Your blooms are gorgeous, can't believe you have Dahlias emerging already. It must be pretty mild there right now.

I can hear you loud and clear regarding both A/c and heat being turned off! That perfect temp and humidity that we only get to enjoy such a short time!

We still need the heater on. Today's sunshine, though, sure felt good! Your flowers are lovely!

All your flowers are pretty, Darla. I like your verbena especially. The one I bought today is purple and white with tiny flowers. The combo would be nice.

We're both a little "mad" aren't we Darla Dear?! LOL Gorgeous photos. I won't say I'm jealous but I kinda am.

I remain grateful for the opportunity to come south, walk through your gardens and only ' dream ' on the day that I will walk my own. Your flowers and trees are gorgeous. I can nearly smell the pansies and taste the peaches and pears. At least it is finally warming, up North. Spring wants to come.
Thanks for stopping by. I laughed as I read your comment as we really are like kin. Only difference, My RC has had the tendon surgery, not sure on the LC, and waiting to see what's next for the neck also. I'm scared of surgery there, and given the 'Live with it,' or ' Surgery,' I have lived with it quite some time and would have to weigh the options...it sure makes for a miserable, pained gardener, doesn't it. Hang in there. Sounds like our gardens are what give us pain/peace.

Hi, Darla! Thanks for popping over to visit my blog. I thought I would come over to see what you have going on. Your pictures are lovely! I think our ladybugs are never that red. The warmer weather in your area must make a difference. I'm sure I'll come back soon. Have a great day. Carla

Hi!

I would love to talk to you about an issue that I feel is a hot topic in environmental news and something that most families are intrigued to read about. I have written an article that I think your readers would be interested in seeing on your blog.

As I'm sure you know that in the last 100 years, our agricultural habits have left us with about a quarter of the crop diversity we once had?

I'm looking to promote that idea that by encouraging grocery shoppers to branch out from their usual selections and to join the local food movement, they can help to conserve this forgotten species, provide a healthy food choice for their families and create a more sustainable agricultural system.

I like the time of year, also, when neither the heat nor the a/c are being used. ;-) Your post just made me say "Ahhhh." One of these days, I'll be seeing something similar outdoors here!

Hi Darla, yes I did drive by last night. I have been staying with my daughter this week while her hubby is out of town again and I had picked up my grandkids from school. When we got home, my granddaughter insisted on riding down the street to see the "horsies". Did you see me wave? I would have stopped but we were about to have a potty emergency if you know what I mean :)
