Backyard Bird Count and NO Snow!

Yesterday was the first day of 'The Great Backyard Bird Count'. I spent one hour in the a.m. taking photos of the birds at our feeders. Here is my contribution for day one.

Not captured but seen was the House Finch. You still have until the 15th to participate. Click on the Backyard Bird Count Banner to the right for more information.

As you can see it was raining...a cold all day rain without one snowflake...sigh

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I am Thankful for the promise of sunshine!
You got the bird count off to a great start. We have many of the same birds, but I haven't seen a Red-Winged Blackbird up here.
Have a Happy Valentine weekend.
Great bird shots! I can't wait for some sunshine either, this is the coldest most dreary winter I can ever remember in Florida and I've lived here my whole life! Have a great Valentine's Weekend :-)
I was hoping you would get a few snowflakes Darla since you were watching for them. I heard there was some snow in Florida and Georgia yesterday so I thought maybe you had your snow.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I haven't seen many birds except for the past two days below my front window eating the Holly Berries. You got some awesome shots and quite a collection. Sorry, you didn't get your snow.
We have a lot of birds and a lot of snow for us! You give us an inch and cold weather and it shuts us down. It is beautiful though.
wow, you've got some beautiful birds. I think woodpeckers are so pretty. I don't think I've seen any blackbirds. Then again, I'm not terribly big on birds. I should get a book and learn what to look for - they're always beautiful on blogs!
Well Darn, I was hoping, just a little bit, a light dusting just so I could read your happy post. On the bright side, winter isn't over yet. :)
So even though all 50 states got snow, you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, I guess;-/ (Hawaii got the snow in the mtns). I'm doing the birdcount too. I'm also doing one that goes from Nov-Apr. It's basically the same, just a little longer. We have all of the same birds, except I have never had a red winged blackbird, which I wish I would get. I have LOTS of bluebirds, though.
