I love it! I wish more kids would use their imaginations and enjoy nature. Can you tell I'm an OLD country girl at heart? I spent hours playing outside.

Your kids are re-living my childhood! We used to pull down those trees like that and also build play houses out of whatever we could find. It's good to see them enjoying the great outdoors!

I think my oldest daughter would fit right in with your girls. So much of what you show your 11 (I thinks she's 11?)year old doing is exactly what mine does. I love that girls still go outside climb trees and build forts at this age. So many grow up so fast and don't enjoy being a kid. You must be a great influence on them :)

I love it Darla... So many kids these days aren't creative anymore and don't play outside at all. They are glued to the TV or to their cellphones or to a video game, etc....Your kids/friends looked like they were having a GREAT time together. How much fun is that!!!! You are SUCH a great Mama.

Hugs,
Betsy

Love your post - half my childhood was spent out in the woods, making forts and forming and disbanding secret clubs. It's great kids are still out in the woods doing kid things!

So much to be thankful for in your part of the garden. The woods are the best place for kids to play and learn. Gail

It's nice to see that some youngsters can have fun without a computer, cellphone or video game! The girls built a wonderful house.

Looks like they had a great time enjoying being outside this weekend. Great weekend for it too. I spent most of my weekend outdoors too soaking up some sun while working.

What fun! I sure remember those days of playing outside all day, with no toys needed.

But Darla, I didn't see any cell phones. No ear buds protruding from the sides of their heads. I'm curious what planet your girls are from. :) Obviously their mother is doing something right when girls of this age would rather be in the woods instead of on the computer. A refreshing post, Darla.

It is a very rare site to see children play like this here in the UK... our children seem to grow up far to quick and miss out on their childhood... character building like this will last them a lifetime and the bonds formed through social playing will stand them well in life. Great pictures and post Darla....

That's so great Darla. It's imaginative, creative and innocent fun. All things I thought were almost gone!
