A Few Spring Colors..

Finally my Daffs are starting to bloom, later than last year.
Calendula has been flowering on and off all winter.
My husband spotted the first Ipheion- Rolf Fiedler of the year yesterday afternoon. In my search to find the time of the first bloom last year I stumbled on a post I did about it on my old blog. I can't get the link to work so if you are interested in reading it, google Ipheion Rolf Fieldler and you'll see FamilyandFlowers come up. Some of you left comments on that post too.
It was posted February 19, 2009 my flowers are a few weeks later this year.
We received 8/10 of rain last night, it will be at or below freezing the next few mornings and then warming up for the weekend..can you believe we spring forward an hour in 12 days? Ahh, Spring is surely right around the corner!

Today I am Thankful for the splash of spring color I see around me!

Today, I am thankful for your burst of spring color so that you could brighten my day with your photos.

I love daffodils and just yesterday bought some silk ones to brighten my home - I have trouble growing them as the moles/voles tend to eat those bulbs more than tulip ones.

The blue flower is just gorgeous - I have never seen another like it!

Thank you for always sharing the beauty that you do - I am sorry that I don't always have time to come to your blog and comment but I do read every single post in google reader.

What a stunning shade of blue. I would like a summer cottage, with all the bedrooms painted with that color. The floors would be dark wood, and all the furniture and curtains white. Lovely.

Love that color of blue, Darla. One of my fav's!!!!!! Yes---we all have had a harsh winter this year --and most all of the spring flowers will be later I'm sure.

We are still in winter here since we have 2 inches of snow on the ground today. GADS!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Such a pretty blue bloom Darla. Great closeup. This silly cold winter has set your garden back too this year. I cannot believe it is still cool down there. Those yellow daffodils makes it look warm anyway. The snow is slowly melting here now. In the fifties Sunday. Wow girl I will think it is summer. LOL!

It seems strange that it's colder there than here. I'm glad you're seeing more of your Spring flowers. I really like the Calendula.

Beautiful flowers, as usual.

That header Bluebird photo looks familiar, bet by now you have a VERY dirty car. Once they find the mirror that will stay at it. LOL!

Hi Darla,
I enjoyed your spring blooms. I'm not familiar with the one that starts with an i. I love that blue bloom with the yellow in the center.

Hi Darla, that is absolutely the best header!!!

I'm not surprised the blooms are later this year. What an unusually harsh winter we have all had.

I really enjoyed seeing your daffodils and other flowers in bloom. It's going to be a couple of weeks or more before we have any color like that up here. So I hope you will continue to share the beauties from your garden.

Absolutely stunning flower. I am not familiar with that one but it is so pretty. Great camera work. My daffs didn't get planted till Jan so they will be late blooming. They have all come up. In my post yesterday the garden I am enlarging has 55 daffs planted in that little circle.
