It's FF over at
http://tootsietime.blogspot.com drop by and see what's happening this last Friday of January 2011.
My husband and I have been watching the Hydrangeas the last week or so. We weren't really sure if the leaf buds were going to make it, lo and behold they are still growing.
Lacecap
This one is in a container, a rooted cutting from Ms. Doris three doors down last year. I was sure it would be last to show new growth being in a container. Not sure of it's name so the blooms will be a surprise.
We noticed some buds on the Blueberry too. See the cleared area across our second driveway?
A new garden area, dappled sun...should it be a Woodland or a Meadow? Suggestions are oh so welcome!
One small area of Poppies...I have them all over more than any other place.

Today I am Thankful our temperatures are warming up, might be 70 tomorrow!

look at all the plants popping...how lucky...I get a rush just seeing them...
Do you have an oakleaf hydrangea? I would like to try one in my garden (not sure where). They are so pretty!
So, you have a new area to have fun with...i say meadow.:) I'm sure whatever you choose will be lovely!
70's sound so good and warm, we are getting some warmer but only have camellia buds.
I sure hope it is warmer tomorrow. It's dang chilly right now, cloudy and breezy. I think it is always a treat to see plants start to bud out or break the surface. I think a meadow garden would be wonderful.

We are expecting around 70 tomorrow too and pretty - the gardens are calling my name this weekend. I feel like gettin dirty. The poppies look like what I have coming up though not as prevalent as yours. I have new growth on all of my stuff too. I'll have some photos next week. Hope you have a great weekend Darla.
I guess I should go outside and see if we have any action like this! Sure feels spring like over here in Seattle!
Have a great weekend Darla!

I think the weekend is supposed to be beautiful!
It is meditative to come here. Thanks for the serenity and tribute to Nature and all that it encompasses. I find the way you create your posts to be one of my favorite moments of my day or week.
A meadow garden, or a woodland garden, both sound fantastic to me. How wonderful to see buds, thanks for sharing with your northern neighbors!
Oh I'm jealous... It will be a couple of months before we have any buds... I do remember one year when our flowers started blooming TOO early in March.. Then in April, we had a HORRIBLE freeze which killed so many things that year... I hated that also.
Enjoy your beautiful yard... Like I said, I'm jealous.
Hugs,
Betsy
70 degrees lucky you. I love your picture of the driveway and the tree with buds. Very pretty. You must have better luck with Poppies than I do. But I'm still trying.
Buds, how exciting. 70 degrees will then to do that, I guess!
Signs of new life are promising.
Well Darla Dear, I like the area. It looks like the trees make for a shaded understory. I don't have any grand ideas but knowing you I anticipate good things.
It's wonderful to see green and signs of Spring. Now I have to wait patiently for us to get some of those signs. Thank you for sharing your new growth with us.
So wonderful to see the new buds.
Isn't it wonderful to see the plants coming alive.I cannot wait for it to happen here. You are going to have so many pretty poppies.I have poppies to Darla. They are just under all that snow somewhere. LOL!
Looking at the green shoots is like watching a nature's miracle unfolding. Regarding your hydrangea, it looks good for that's exactly what I am doing and seeing in my own hydrangea stem.
It looks like spring isn't far now. I noticed buds on our blueberries too. I vote woodland garden for under the trees, but I know it'll be pretty whatever you decide.
It's so good to see the buds that promise it will be Spring again!
I saw some three inch shoots coming up from some of my bulbs today.
What no frost? Isn't this Florida? No snow?
We have just the tiniest bit of green showing in the lilac buds...
Can't wait.

I'm envious that you have so much already growing. I love hydrangeas and can't wait to see yours in bloom. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
70 sounds great to me! Spring is not far away for you. Your first crocus is pretty. I meant to add some yellow last fall then forgot!
I also like your boot containers! Fun...
DARLA! I am just dying for my leaf buds to start showing...I am so excited for you ! thanks for linking in this week...you always make me smile!
Its so fun to watch things wake up even when winter is still going strong.
What a winter with more of it arriving this week. We have a few plants greening up. isn't it thrilling Darla to see the green and then the buds! gail
There is nothing sweeter than the 'first buds of spring' but I hear the north is getting more snow.. ug! Hope the temps do not hurt your buds?
Thanks so much for your visit to my blog today and your kind words..

What I wouldn't give to see a few buds around here. But it's too early, they wouldn't survive if they poked out their little heads.
In this informative and interesting garden so that can be know that and enjoy it in this garden. There are different types flower in the garden and enjoy it in this garden. Often are very like it and enjoy it.
