Wordless Wednesday

Click to enlarge...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For those of you interested in the cinder block wall. We used chicken wire shaped to fit in the protruding blocks, lined with a plastic grocery bag with holes poked in them. We hooked the chicken wire over the opening of the block. Spray painted it to match the blocks and covered it with moss. Because I like moss. The stacked blocks, three high, were filled about 3/4 of the way with sand, the rest soil, for planting. Forgot to mention we used Quick Grip glue to secure the blocks...seems to have worked quite well.
Pam wedged 8 inch nails in hers to hold her wire lined with black plant fabric stuff. In the post previous to this one there is a link to exactly how Pam built hers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today I am Thankful for the 3/10 inch of rain we received Monday night.

Thank you so much for you visit and kind words...I'll admit, it's been an emotional roller coaster since putting her on the airplane last night.

Your cinder block wall is sooo cute!

I want one, my Mister says "thanks"...lol.

Beautiful poppies! Is that a new header photo? What a capture!! BTW--your new profile photo is great too!

The poppies look great! I'll file the info on the block wall away for when I have time to try it! Thanks!

Your header left me speechless. The very first time I saw a Hawk Moth, is that what yours is? anyway, I thought it was a hummingbird. They are amazing.
Your fire red poppies are stunning. Mine are deep pink with purple throats and cannot wait to see them again.
Do love your cinder block wall. I can see it spilling with succulents and sedum. Can't wait to see yours in full bloom.

Look at your poppies girl. They are so pretty. Maybe mine will take on a bloom before long.

I love that cinder block wall. Perfect for that spot that needs a little extra pizzazz. You did a great job on it. The best part of it was the fun of doing it and all the great help you had.

Your poppy looks so happy. I like the selection of photos in the collage. I'm thankful that you posted this. We cannot grow poppies in our country.

It may be wordless wednesday, but I have words!

First thank you for dropping by and leaving such a nice comment on both of our blogs. Nothing encourages a new blogger like a friendly comment.

You grow asparagus? That is too cool, I had no idea that you could do that there.

So sorry I've been absent lately, I will email you and keep you up to date.

Splendid. I've heard that they're really easy to grow. I should try them this year. I've only seen them used in cooking here. :D They add quite a flavor - that I can say for sure!

Poppies? Poppies!!! My favorites! You know Darla, if I'd get tired of gardening, I'd just watch your pictures.

Oh Darla Sweetie...
How absolutely gorgeous your poppies are. I love them. I have never had luck with them here in the valley, though I have tried. Tirelessly in fact. I don't have many places that are not totally sunny all the time.

I have to tell you how much I truly love, LOVE your cinder block wall. What a beautiful idea and how creative you are sweet one. I think you need to get one of those little garden flags and tuck it in the somewhere, maybe you could make your own garden flag and add it to a rod. You are so creative and it inspires me to use on of our cinder blocks for a planter as well. Beautiful job sweetie. Just beautiful and I thank you so much for sharing along with me.

Have a gorgeous Wednesday. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Your poppies look great! I'm not sure which I like most, the buds before they stand up or the pods after the petals fall. Poppies have popped here too and now the Corn poppies are starting.

I like both your poppies and the collage. Beautiful.

You inspire me to have poppies. All this time and I have never had them in my garden.

Your collage makes me hungry, figuratively speaking, for my poppies. They're still tiny seedlings. Patience, patience. :)
