Bloomin' Tuesday...

Still have a few Poppies blooming. Susans, a garden staple.

Cosmos

Centaureas

Dahlia--some are shy and

some are not.

Zinnia

And my very first Heuchera bloom! Isn't she lovely? Don't have her special name in front of me right now, do you recognize her?

Thanks Jean at http://msgreenthumbjean.blogspot.com for hosting Bloomin' Tuesday.

The Spring weather bringing tornadoes to so many areas is just heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone that has been affected by them. We on the other hand are experiencing a drought. My car read 102 degrees yesterday.

Today I am Thankful that God really is in control.

Hi Darla, Your flowers and all of the colors are all just gorgeous... My Mom used to grow both Zinnias and Dahlias... I have never grown either --but they are so pretty...

YES--let's pray for all of those who lost everything in the tornadoes. I will also pray for rain and less hot temps for YOU.

Don't miss my blog today.
Hugs,
Betsy

Great blossoms, Darla Dear. I can't tell you the name of the Heuchera but she is indeed a lovely thing. I recognize that deep, pink color on the bachelor buttons. Very nice! I like the white one too though. And I love that first photo of the poppies. Just gorgeous!

I always know I will get to see beautiful flowers here. Love those pink and white zinnias. Zinnias are one of my favorite summer flowers. The butterflies and hummingbirds that also love them are the reason I plant them every year.

You have so many blooms, they are all lovely. I love bachelor's buttons and your heuchera is very unusual, I am sorry I don't know its name. Thanks for the great pictures.

Yes the heat is back with a vengeance isn't it? Oh and I started listening to Gulf 104 when I moved here to go to FSU and it has always been my favorite station. Your husband has good taste in music!

The only poppies I have left are corn poppies, which look faded as soon as they open and California poppies.

That is a nice heuchera bloom but I can't say which one it might be. Most of them don't have very impressive flowers but I think they are trying to breed more for flowers recently. I need to plant more cosmos!

Such a variety!

Beautiful blooms, Darla! I don't even try growing dahlias here because you're supposed to dig them up to overwinter them. My aka should be 'lazy gardener'.
Hope you are able to stay cool with the early summer heat!

Spent flowers from the poly-headed sunflower species. That will promote more blooming. Also, plenty of space means abundance of sunshine for each plant. When lacking sun, sunflower stems grow frail; they might even collapse in effort to reach for the sun.
