Plumbago
Alyssum
Gerbera
This Verbena I call Miss Prissy, she once had her own chair container but her butt outgrew it.
Crinums have been blooming for a couple of weeks.
Still my favorite rose, from the grocer for 5 dollars.
This Amaranthus, Joseph's Coat popped up in our parking area. The wind and rain knocked it over a few days ago, my husband has nicknamed it the 'Lion's Mane'.
The majority of my blooming plants are either finished for the season or are waiting for a slight cool down in temperatures to begin blooming again. It gets very hot and humid quickly during the day which makes for an unstable atmosphere with unpredictable thunderboomers in the afternoon. In the meantime the girls and I have been working on a few projects indoors. Some of the paper that we made the other day is being turned into bookmarks while some of the others will be framed. I will be sharing how I made the paper next week. I could share a video link with you that I viewed for this idea, but anyone that knows me, knows that I tweak every recipe I use.

It is true some of the bloomers really slow down this season. I think that is why I concentrate so much on foliage and why I adore my caladiums for summertime color. Your indoor projects are always fun to see. I'll be watching for next week's how-to. I'm looking for a fun new craft to do with my
8yo granddaughter.
enjoy... Meems
I love your wheelbarrow full of goodies, and your bloomers are lovely.
Your paper projects are great and I wish you well with them.
Looking forward to seeing this recipe.
Happy Summer Gardening ~ FlowerLady
I had to do a double take I thought your Amaranthus was a small dog.lol Lord I need new glasses..lol But then I was still giggling about Miss Prissy's big butt.. Sounds like me except hers is prettier ..lol
Have a fun day hugs from Savannah, Cherry
Oh I love the paper you have made and can't wait to hear about it. I have never done that but would love to know how. Is that moss in the wheelbarrow? The only thing blooming here is my dahlias. They are gorgeous! Love the signs too.
Pretty flowers, cute projects! You never cease to amaze me.
Good luck with your sales!
We are at the peak of our season here in Zone 5. At times I wish I lived where I could garden all year long. But then, by Fall I find that I'm ready for a break. Your late bloomers are lovely. I love your signs! You did a great job. Will be anxious to find out more about them. Thanks so much for commenting on my blog.
I love your wheelbarrow plantings and the little birds tucked in amid the plants is are perfect! I might have to search for an old wheelbarrow someday. =) All of your posies are so pretty and your signs are wonderful!
Looks like you still have plenty of beauty in your garden despite the heat! Paper making is a fun craft to incorporate garden gleanings. My daughter and I have made lots of fun paper over the years:)
You had me laughing at Miss Prissy's big butt, I can sympathize with her, if I don't get a move on, mine won't fit in my chair, either. Love the bookmarks and signs, you are so talented.
What pretty garden blooms you have, love the gerbera daisies! Oh and I love love love the signs you made. They're so cute!

Hi Darla, your garden is so pretty!... I love your little grocery store rose, I have one from the store that is my favorite as well... love your little garden markers too... wishing you a beautiful Summers day... xoxo Julie Marie
Love the wheelbarrow. I have some plants that look similar to yours in window boxes hanging on my chain link fence. Big Butt indeed. Love that.
Blooms have calmed down here too. Zinnia about to bloom. They are volunteer.
I appreciate that you included names for your plants, I am lazy at identifying some of mine and you just helped! Looks great, happy gardening! ~ Jacque
These are all lovely! Btw, thanks for such a sweet comment on my divine rose tutorial :) It brightened my day.
Alyssum smell so terrific. I have a pot by the back door and every time I go out the door the aroma hits me.You Plumbago is so beautiful. Mine is just setting and doing nothing. Kind of like me. LOL! Have you ever grown Gerbera from seed? I cannot get the stuff to seed. I wondered if there was a certain way one had to deal with the seeds? Your Bookmarkers are just the cutest. Great job on the signs too.
I've never heard of a crinum but they sure are pretty.
Well I can sure relate to Miss Prissy, LOL. Love your bargain rose and the Crinums are lovely. And the Gerbera is outstanding. Your wheelbarrow is really filling in nicely and looks so cool. Love it all.
Hi Darla, Our blooming flowers are stopping for awhile--except for the Roses---also. It's just that time of year.
Love Miss Prissy... She could easily be named Miss Betsy... ha ha... I love Verbena.
Love the bookmarks and signs... How CREATIVE and NEAT.... Wow!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Yep I imagine your garden is looking for some relief from the heat you guys are getting right now. I love the Crinum Lily, the color is so vibrant. The signs & bookmarks are great too. :)
Most of my stuff is slowing down in this horrid heat! It will perk up in the fall though. I like the moss in your wheelbarrow.
We had a real downpour this pm but now its fine once more.
Dont know how you keep going in all this weather, its the training youve had.lol
Love your Miss Prissy! And your story about her outgrowing the chair! And yes, I see the 'Lion's Mane'!

Lovely blooms. Looks like you are having lots of fun there!
Love your crafting, both the signs and the paper. You're a talented woman! The gerbera is a stunning color and I like the soft color of the plumbago as well.
Blessings, Beth
Catching up on blog reading after vacation. I, too, concentrate on some indoor pastimes in this heat! I'm currently making new curtains. The rain we've been getting is wonderful but only a few hrs. in the AM are bearable to be out and about in the garden. Making your own paper sounds fun and I look forward to the info on how to do it.
Lovely flowers!I can relate to the hot and humid weather too.My garden is in full swing right now and if it doesn't get too hot over the next week or so they should last... I adore your hand painted signs!
Deb
Your garden looks gorgeous and green in spite of the heat and humidity. Your five dollar rose is beautiful. I'm very impressed with the signs you've made and look forward to learning more about how you made your paper.
I love that amaranthus, it does look just like a lion! Looking forward to your post about the papers, they came out beautiful. The signs are cool too.

Hi Darla. I love that "lion's mane." I spend $20 on a new rose bush, and it doesn't look nearly as good as your $5 one. It's so nice to visit a luscious zone 8 garden.
Hi Darla, I love your wheelbarrow full of plants and your creative sign projects.
I hate this time of year when the gardens are fighting with the weather. My gardens are on hiatus right now. Hardly anything going on. Actually they look terrible. But I am happily planning next springs gardens.
I love the colours of your Joseph's Coat Amaranthus! Lovely photos!
Thanks for the visit. Come again soon. :)
Your flowers look beautiful! And I love the homemade paper bookmarkers!
Everything looks beautiful! Isn't it fun to find 'bargain' plants, like your lovely rose, and be surprized at how well they do!
Happy FF.

Hi Darla! I didn't see a way to email you. Here is the blog link to Horton's. http://hortonsoftipton.blogspot.com/
Sorry that I forgot to link them, I'll go and correct that right now!
I have a children's craft book that shows how to make paper. I always thought it would be fun to try but I never got around to it. I really like the bookmarks!
Hi Darla,
Your flowers are so pretty. I love the Gerber Daisy!
-Lynn
Darla, your flower photographs are beautiful! I also peeked at the lovely paper you made: so creative!
Darla, gotta say, I love your wheelbarrow! Cute! And it's never too early to think about Christmas! The sooner the better in my book. :)

Love your paper projects! I was visiting Florida (St.Augustine area)the beginning of May. It was terribly dry then, looks like your flowers are all enjoying some wonderful weather they all look so healthy! Thanks for visiting Sall's Country Life! Enjoy some more crafting time!
Your wheelbarrow looks so cute! I love your crinums, we can't grow them in zone 5. Thanks for your visit!
Love the Plumbago. It has such a dreamy loveliness about it.
Even though you said you didn't have much color in your garden, I enjoyed looking at it. We had some color in the spring, but it's been so hot this year that we gave up on flowers. Therefore, it was a treat to see your pretty blooms. Thanks so much for visiting my blog this weekend.
I love Amaranthus, Joseph's Coat. Unique flowers like that one always top my list. Unfortunately I can almost never find them in my small town.
The beautiful interesting flower shared and use it. There are different enjoyable place interesting we can visiting in this garden.
