I came home with 4 Dianthus--First Love, the flowers bloom white and then turn pink to lavender, it has the most delightful scent.
I am finding that I am becoming addicted to Sedums. I picked up a Fine Gold Leaf Stonecrop--most of them are hardy year round here, drought and heat tolerant. (the girls call it the scrambled egg plant)
Of course I pinched on this one and now have it 4 other places in the garden. I just love this bright chartruese color.
I also planted 8 Candytuft that I started from seed. My Hollyhocks are up, planted the Poppy Seed from Catherine over at http://agardenerinprogress.blogspot.com/ and the Foxglove seeds I received from Tatyana over at http://tanyasgarden.blogspot.com are up.
I have also received other seeds from generous gardening bloggers and will update you as I plant them...got to to go clean the house!!

Your flowers are beautiful! I need to go out and work with mine...I see weeds!

Very pretty Darla! We are supposed to get some cold weather this weekend. I'm looking forward to it!
Darla: I think that Dianthus are really great. They will even come back up after being covered with snow. Sedum is a neat plant to spread around.
Hi Darla, Your new flowers are gorgeous. I too love Sedum. We recently got more from Dad Adams' yard--and I planted them in another bed on the side. They are so EASY --and don't take much care.
I quit having yard sales or garage sales years ago. They are ALOT of work for so little money. AND--people always want to 'steal' stuff --so you have to watch them carefully (at least in Texas) where we had them at my church.
Have a great Thanksgiving. We are headed out of town to do some hiking--after a big turkey dinner.
Hugs,
Betsy
You always have the prettiest flowers!
Everything looks so lush, and ....alive.
I feel like I am in another world when I visit. But I love it, nice to know that there are still plants being sold somewhere. And that gardening continues onward for others.

I'm with you on the sedums. I now have to go check and see if my foxgloves germinated that Tatyana sent me. I hope so!
I love Dianthus too....alothought I love anything scented! ;~)
Sedum is a fav for sure...easy care plant. I'll be in the garden this weekend. Not playing with flowers but figuring out how to make it unwelcome for the raccoons. Never in my wildest dreams think I'd ever have to do that!
Happy Thanksgiving!
*hugs*deb
Oh my goodness, I love the color of the Sedum too! Chartreuse is a hard color to find in the garden sometimes, but it is so beautiful.
Yours are so beautiful. I love dianthus of any color. My garden is calling my name.
I am so glad that I get to come and see your flowers. Everything is dead and gone here due to cooler weather. Vicki (BF) gave me a cutting from an angel trumpet and I checked it and it is getting roots. I am so excited.
Hi Darla~~ It must be so fun to garden year round. Your nursery choices are exactly what I would have picked out. The sedum is to die for. Scrambled egg plant sounds dead-on to me. I am similarly addicted! I love the scent of Dianthus and these look beautiful too. I also love Nemesia. Fingers are crossed that you can avoid the hard freeze this year. Congrats on the seeds germinating.
Hi Darla~
Love the sedum, it's so bright! I may have to buy some for own garden.
I hope you and your family have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

You are so lucky to still be planting. It's so wet here that it's not really garden weather and most of my plants have given up until spring. I can't wait to see how the Poppies do for you.
Oh I love them all! The stonecrop is beautiful.
Your flowers are beautiful.
Our flowers are dead gone for the winter though we have had unusual warmer than normal weather here this year so far. I would not get upset if it stayed this way.
I like sedum, too. I have a few plants that need to be trimmed back. They got pretty spindly reaching for the sun amongst all the weeds.
Oh and do you have any ham to go with those "green eggs"?
Happy Thanksgiving dear more family and flowers.
Patsy
We're in different seasons, it looks like! I like your new plants. That is a cool color on the sedum.
We've had milder than usual temps, and it got up to 60 today. I was able to spend some time pulling and hoeing weeds in my 2 veggie gardens. I got the rest of my dead plants out. I'd rather be planting things, though. It's cool that you've gotten seeds from other people, and they are growing.
