It has been just wonderful gardening weather these last few days. Even with waking to two mornings of a dusting of frost the garden is holding it's own. Yesterday I spent the entire day working on my 'Rock' Garden. It is my hope that all of these little areas surrounded by rock
will be filled in come late Spring of 2010.
Various types of Sedum have been used. The container at the bottom to the left has been planted with 5 Tulip bulbs. I purchased them and put them in the freezer for 9 weeks. Ah, to have Tulips in Florida!
Firebush, Pineapple Sage and Forget-Me-Nots.
Salvia
My 'Famous' Grill.
Diamond Frost Euphorbia cascading out of the tipsy planter. The one around the mailbox is much larger than this one. Diamond Frost has been known to survive our winters....we will see.
Petunias, Melampodium and Snapdragons.
Guara
Clematis
The Impatiens dotted throughout the yard are doing quite well. This one is almost as tall as the back of the bench.
Painted Lady Hibiscus....I highly recommend this one. It has been a performer all summer.
4 hanging containers of Petunias and Alyssum.
I also have 4 Cleome blooming and little ones sprouting all over the garden. The blue in the background is the Forget-Me-Nots.
I hope the rest of your weekend is beautiful!!

Your rock garden will be great. I can just see all of the sedums spilling out of it. That Diamond Frost is so awesome!
Everything looks so lush, and full of life. Pinch me, I am not dreaming right?

Darla: You better do some work on that grill, you'll never be able to cook on it again.
God bless your green hands, Darla. all the flowers in your garden are a pure delight. i like your famous grill too. ;)
btw, i love that header too!
Okay, now it's my turn to be green with envy.
The only flowers blooming around here are the mums and they are beginning to turn a little brown. *sniff*sniff*
I am SO ready for spring!
Hi Darla, I love your rock garden. Do you have semps planted there also??? They LOVE rocks and will grow all around them --and "ON" them!!!! ha
All of your flowers are gorgeous.
Hugs,
Betsy
Lovely photos. The rock garden looks like fun! Especially love the tipsy planter - beautiful!
Hi Darla, it is all looking good and will surely be filled in to give you the rock garden of your dreams by next spring. Your flowers are so pleasing to see now, they are still so summery and bright. Loved the big kid guitar star! We had some video gaming by the big kids here too. Hope your holidays were filled with joy.

What a beautiful garden Darla, its been raining and cold here all day.
So I've been checking my files for pics for our Header Challenge, and I think I've come up with a few beauties for you.lol.
You are making me wish for spring already!!!
I have been cleaning my bed out and putting in the Ornamental grasses that were in pots. Put pansies in pots the rabbits are eating the ones in the beds.Had to put ground red pepper on them.
Your beds will be beautiful come spring. EVERY THING LOOKS GOOD NOW.

Darla, this is the first time I see your grill! Fantastic!
I enjoyed seeing what's going on in your garden. Your grill looks like a face. The knobs look like eyes and a nose. Of course the grass looks like hair, and the mouth looks like it has food and a tongue sticking out. Did you do that on purpose, or did you not even notice that? Well, it's looking good, just like the rest of your plants. I look forward to seeing your rock area when it fills out.
I'm sure it will be filled in by Spring and looking great. I can't believe you've had two frosts and still have so much blooming! Lucky you :)
I love the grill Darla! Makes me wish I hadn't tossed mine.lol
Your garden is still beautiful -- I'm jealous. You had a great idea to get tulips in Florida. I hope it works.
Love your grill!!!
I love the garden sectioned off with rocks. Can't wait to see it filled in. By the way I think the grill has 'class'. Have a good day.
Great photos, love to see all of the wonderful colors. Here in Seattle the only colors are brown and brown. Very pretty.
