I didn't even think of doing that. That's really neat.

Flowerladay, my husband does this for me every winter. Heck, if you have to let the water run/drip you might as well get something pretty out of it.

My mother said that when they were little they'd live a hose runnning overnight on their lawn. When they got up in the morning they had a nice ice skating rink! :D

I love all the shapes that ice makes. Brrr... it's cold here too. But we are warming up quick. Expected tomorrow - 70's. What a difference a couple of days make.

Those icicles certainly made for some pretty photo ops! Amazing that they are still there after two days! This cold is really brutal. My dad always left the spinklers on when we had freezes back when I was a girl, and we would wake up to a winter wonderland the next morning. It never lasted all day though. I would love to use the spinkler method here, but our irrigation system needs to be reworked.

The icicles are so pretty! I've been watching the news hearing about how cold it is there.
The bird count is February 18 - 21. I'm sure you'll see lots of pretty ones again this year.

Hi Darla, That ole nasty cold front did a number on all of us, didn't it? We still have snow on the ground --and now we are having ICE.... Glad we don't have to get out and drive tonight... How could it be 25 degrees (which it is) and be ICE --and not SNOW????? GADS!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

You have about as many icicles as we have. It was nice of your husband to make these for you. I'm just not sure you want them to stay around for so long.

The storm missed us and it even got warmer here.

My Dad used to do that for us when we were little. Your husband is a sweetheart Darla!

I think one of the coolest and most interesting things is the way that ice encases things.
