What's This About?

Can you believe that I have Narcissus bulbs sprouting? I planted these October of 2008 for early Spring color for 2009.....Why are they sprouting now? Should be sprouting at the end of Winter for early Spring color 2010..

Mine are coming up as well. They will bloom December or January!

Totally not right for sure. Muscari come up in the fall and chinodoxa but I've not heard of these. I did dig some daffodil bulbs the other day and they are sprouting and beginning their growth already so these ones must just be speedy ones. I was a bit surprised to see them sprouting already. Hopefully they'll still do well for you.

Hi Darla, This has been a crazy year/fall... Some of the plants don't know what to do!!!! I do remember a few years ago when my spring Rhododendron bloomed in late Fall. Huh???? Weird...
Hugs,
Betsy

That is strange. Only the grape hyacinths are coming up here like they do every fall.

Darla: Maybe the 90F temperatures last week has something to do with it.

your flowers are beautiful and so are your kids, as well as the butterflies and the pillows. Do you still make candles?

I had that happen to be before too Darla. Plants just do what they want to.

We have some lily plants that do the same thing. They came up a few weeks ago, but they won't survive the winter. They haven't bloomed yet.

must be an effect of climate change???

That is weird! Maybe it's the odd weather we've had this season. Hopefully they bloom as they should come spring.

I also have 2 azalea in full bloom, and I am not talking about my reblooming ones. The reblooms were gorgeous, for the first time this fall. These concern me that I won't have any blooms when I should in the spring.
