Random Weekend Stuff

We woke to Monarchs hatching this morning!! There are five, we have five more to go.. I was pulling up all of the hundreds of ornamental potato vines yesterday and look what I ran into... the ornamental potato vine made potatoes!
These are the largest I have ever grown...see it compared to a 6 pack cell pack?
Had this halo made from grapevine wreath hanging on the front porch since last Halloween when one of the girls was an angel. Wrapped some moss around it with some raffia and glued a few small silk fall leaves...cute enough..
Please read the lower left of this carton. Does it or does it not say 5? Wonder why there was only four....yeah, I'm calling them.
Still working on these T-shirts...
Silver sparkles are hard to see in the photo.
.Friday I made some Santa Hat pots...picture them with candy canes sticking out around the edge.

It really was a random weekend...I had so much fun!! What did you do?

Hi Darla, Thanks for your kind words on my blog. I really appreciate it. Even though Ray is in a better place, I still have been quite sad all weekend. Time will heal!

Love your little Christmas pots. I have one similar--that a friend made one year. I fill it full of peppermints also.

What are those big red things? Potatoes? They look like HUGE Radishes...????? GADS---amazing what one can find when digging things up!!! ha

Your monarchs are so beautiful. You all will be sad when they all are grown and gone.

The t-shirts are so pretty. You are truly perfecting that art.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sounds like a fun weekend. I like those pots. Very creative. You are doing a wonderful job on the "peace T's". I like the glittered black. Those are pretty monarchs.

I bet you have fun all the time in your spot in Florida. Those monarchs are something else! Here I gardened and made some banana leaf castings. That was pretty fun too-especially since I was successful. Always a bonus:)

The Santa Hat pots are so cute! By the way I posted a picture last Saturday and I was wondering what you thought about it. Take a look and let me know. I think it's kind of funny!

You got a lot accomplished. I still think hatching all those Monarchs is the neatest thing ever! The T Shirt is really cute. The Santa pots are really cute. You may need to post how to do them, my daughter would have fun making them for Christmas gifts.

Well I didn't have as much fun as you did. I planted a few plants I brought home from work that were headed for the garbage. Hopefully next year they will look good.

Everything you did looks like a lot more fun!

It looks like you are still have fun. I watched the landscapers tear out and put new stuff in. Spent all day outside and even got a sunburn watching.

Oh yea! the Monarch's are here! Been waiting on this moment. You've got something cute going with these T's and I like the grey sparkle on the black background. Groovy.

Yes, I can see the candy-canes coming out of the Santa pots and that is very clever.

No wonder you have sweet potatoes with the vines as large as they got.

Hi Darla~~ Interesting potatoes from the vines. I've read that they can be wintered over in a frost free place. You don't have to worry about frost though, do you?

Your Monarch offspring look beautiful. I bet by now they've flown the coop.

Sounds like an enjoyable albeit random weekend.

Darla, love the Christmas hat pots. Really great idea.
Do you replant your potatoes next spring? I did mine but it took forever to sprout. I kept it in the fridge maybe it was too cold there. How do you keep yours?

Well you were A LOT more productive than me! You are like all over the place!!!! I love it though! Always something fun going on around there!

Hi Darla,
I like all your random subjects here. What fun you've been having with your butterflies and other projects! I am planning on eating my sweet potatoes, even the ornamental ones. I need to get them out of the pots tomorrow, because it is supposed to get down to the 20s Saturday night. :o(

Thanks for your nice comment and wishes for my leg to heal.
