Random Garden Photos..

It has been just wonderful gardening weather these last few days. Even with waking to two mornings of a dusting of frost the garden is holding it's own. Yesterday I spent the entire day working on my 'Rock' Garden. It is my hope that all of these little areas surrounded by rock will be filled in come late Spring of 2010.
Various types of Sedum have been used. The container at the bottom to the left has been planted with 5 Tulip bulbs. I purchased them and put them in the freezer for 9 weeks. Ah, to have Tulips in Florida!
Firebush, Pineapple Sage and Forget-Me-Nots.
Salvia
My 'Famous' Grill.
Diamond Frost Euphorbia cascading out of the tipsy planter. The one around the mailbox is much larger than this one. Diamond Frost has been known to survive our winters....we will see.
Petunias, Melampodium and Snapdragons.
Guara
Clematis
The Impatiens dotted throughout the yard are doing quite well. This one is almost as tall as the back of the bench.
Painted Lady Hibiscus....I highly recommend this one. It has been a performer all summer.
4 hanging containers of Petunias and Alyssum.
I also have 4 Cleome blooming and little ones sprouting all over the garden. The blue in the background is the Forget-Me-Nots.

I hope the rest of your weekend is beautiful!!

Photos taken this morning.

Oldest Big Kid, Little Frost and Poinsettias..

Our oldest Big Kid made it in from Daytona Beach and was very quickly talked into playing , "Guitar Hero- Rock Band", whatever they call it. This is our play, craft, computer and catch-all room. This morning we woke to a cool 37 degrees with a little dusting of frost...
I am so very proud of my Poinsettias that I have kept 'alive' for 1 year.....they said I couldn't do it.
So, without me dragging out any Christmas decorations yet...It's starting to look like Christmas!

A Few New Plants..

Yard Sale, everyone wanted something for nothing...not really much to tell. So, I went to the garden..On Friday between picking up children from school I some how managed to drop by the local nursery.

I came home with 4 Dianthus--First Love, the flowers bloom white and then turn pink to lavender, it has the most delightful scent.

I am finding that I am becoming addicted to Sedums. I picked up a Fine Gold Leaf Stonecrop--most of them are hardy year round here, drought and heat tolerant. (the girls call it the scrambled egg plant)

Of course I pinched on this one and now have it 4 other places in the garden. I just love this bright chartruese color.

Aromatica Whith Improved- Nemesia got two of these.

May have to cover it if we get a hard frost. I just love the dainty flowers.

I also planted 8 Candytuft that I started from seed. My Hollyhocks are up, planted the Poppy Seed from Catherine over at http://agardenerinprogress.blogspot.com/ and the Foxglove seeds I received from Tatyana over at http://tanyasgarden.blogspot.com are up.

I have also received other seeds from generous gardening bloggers and will update you as I plant them...got to to go clean the house!!

BUSY!!!

I have been sooo busy these last few days..the yard sale was so, so. Made more money than if I had not done it though, or if the customers didn't have to get me out of the garden to ask a question..(oops!) Oh well, priorities you know. I will be catching up on my blog reading in the morning, unless one of the other 6 people in this home have something else for me to do!!
Until then..........

Wednesday Words...

Thank you Jen at http://muddybootdreams.blogspot.com for hosting this weekly meme...Sorry to say that this will be the last Wednesday Words for Jen. She is moving on to something else...wonder what that will be?? It's been fun Jen!

Most everyone knows my dear gardening friend Ms. Doris, three doors down. She had surgery about two weeks ago and is home recovering. Today I had the pleasure of strolling through her gardens with her. (we all know how that can lift our spirits)
A few of her blooms today are:
Endless Summer-Hydrangea
Okay, I bought a Cat Whiskers last spring, rooted it and shared it with Ms. Doris. Well, mine did not come back this year. BUT, look at hers! I love this plant with the delicate purple tips on the whiskers...think I'll try and root a piece of this one for me..
Her Cassia has some very beautiful blooms on it.

Oh and I so want to root a piece of this Hibiscus...isn't it a lovely orange?
Of course she has Camellias blooming...you know the ones that start with an S.
Ms. Doris when you read this please put the name in the comment section....a few of you also know which ones these are because you have freatured them as well.

Thank you Ms. Doris for the visit, I always enjoy spending time with you.....one of the kids always seems to be able to find me though....sigh
