Header Challenge Day...

(the date is wrong, should say 2008)
It's that time of the week again. I chose the theme "New Years" of course. These photos were taken Dec. 31, 2008 at our front yard fireworks display.
We may not be able to do fireworks this year......rain is on it's way...
This afternoon be sure to come back by to see what I post as my header. Then visit http://thefishingguy.blogspot.com/ http://imac-photosfromthemindseye.blogspot.com/ and http://womtig.blogspot.com/ to see what they post on their header for "New Years."

Be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs you visit, we love reading what you think of our choices!

Playing With The New Camera...

I bought my husband a puzzle for Christmas...the puzzle inside the box was not the puzzle pictured on the box. Didn't take these four long to figure it out though. (Cool coffee table huh? the top lifts up and we love it)
I believe this is the 4th or 5th cake I have received in my 47 years!

27 degrees this morning--not warming up much today. Rain coming again Thursday and Friday. This may be the third wettest December on record! The majority of my plants are doing okay. I did cover the Poinsettias, Bromeliad and the Rex Begonia. How's your weather?

Santa Brought Me A New Camera!!

Some random photos taken with my new camera~~! Canon PowerShot SX120IS
I hadn't a clue there was so much you can do with a 'good' camera...This is going to be fun and... a little like going back to school.
I do hope that all of you had a very Merry Christmas with lots of love and laughter..
Oldest Big Kid made it in from Daytona Beach...
they never really grow up when they are at home..
Our muscially inclined one...plays the flute, harmonica, dabbles at the piano and taught herself a Christmas song on her new Acoustic Guitar yesterday! Her room is black and white with music notes everywhere.

The youngest Medium Kid got her Skateboard..

You never know where you will find this kid...(now she is cleaning her Skateboard)
The two kids on the ends of the table received XBoxes so we really didn't see much of them yesterday, (except to eat) although we heard some weird sounds that tend to go along with trying to beat an electronic game ...

We had a most wonderful Christmas Day...!!

Now I am ready to shift my posts, thoughts, dreams and ideas back to the garden.

Monday is my 47th Birthday!

Welcome Winter! and stuff....

The official temperature at the airport here in North Florida this morning read 29 degrees! A tad bit chilly for us..it was a blustery cold yesterday. We have received almost 10 inches of rain for the month of December. Forecast for Christmas-- in the 70's with rain. I'll take the 70's but would like to skip the rain.

Here are a few random garden shots to help warm you up. Photos taken yesterday.

Sidekick's Mom brought me a fantastic Christmas present yesterday...

Even Frosty knows where to take a girl...
to warm her up!!

FF and Christmas Stuff!!

Here's a wreath that I decorated...not fancy...but, so me!
It's Fertilizer Friday over at http://tootsietime.blogspot.com/ Not showing too many blooms this time....trying like the Dickens to get somewhat ready for Christmas. I know, I know, I have posted my Poinsettia (a lot) that I have kept alive for over a year now.........I do the happy dance everytime I see it!!
It's actually two of them. The one on the left is so much larger...You know what's funny? My husband purchased a white, pink and red one.........Don't remember which was which...one is struggling somewhere else. Both of these are RED!
My Charlie Brown Christmas Tree in the yard..
This is where I made my Iris bed...putting rocks along the edge of this..first of the year! (you can't really see the Iris' believe me they are there)
Love how these ladies have the white frilly on their skirts.
What a nice row of Cornflowers...started from seed.
One day I'll post a decent photo of my Hotlips Salvia....I bet imac likes this plant!
Today I made candies......

I will attach these candies to the top of gifts...I made the name tags out of Christmas cards that we received in 2006!

Do drop by Tootsie's she is a very talented person all the way around!! I just love her...
We are supposed to get up to 4 inches of rain in the next 24 hours........sigh

More Ornaments..

From this to.. this!

A couple more ornaments on the tree.

Have a Terrific Thursday!
