Fertilizer Friday

Go on over to http://tootsietime.blogspot.com and see what plants are still hanging on as summer is coming to a close...
First Friday Of September 2010! I do believe there has been a small hint of season change in the morning air. No fertilizer, no flaunting, just playing with my camera a little.

Lord Baltimore after being watered.

Brugmansia, Angel Trumpet--doesn't that look like a Starfish in there?

Someone please remind me of this tree's name. It's been in this container for over two years now. Perhaps if I planted it in the ground it might bloom.

Spider Plants, Airplane Plants.....in the hanging pails.

My favorite Zinnia, again.

A little sign, thanks Susie!!

Philodendron...i believe that is the one in the pot. You have some pretty blooms! It is raining today, so I might need to clean the house. :/

It all looks great! If you like zinnias you should try Persian carpet. Small yellow-red blooms that form a carpet along the ground. Very neat!

Oh my, great photography! Love those raindrops and the starfish pattern! And those B&W photos are awesome! I never really thought of zinnias as beautiful before seeing your photos.

Beautiful. We have experienced some cooler temps in the upper 80's and low 90's and lower humidity. Welcome change. Have a great Labor Day weekend.

No matter what time of the year, you always have pretty flowers!! I used to have a potted plant called a Split Leaf Philodendron that looked like your plant.
Happy Long Weekend!

Darla, You're right, there definitely is a starfish in that flower. All of your garden is so lush and beautiful.

I have to get a copy of that picture about housework and gardening! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Darla, Love that quote also---and that fits me to a "t"... I love gardening --but despise housework!!!

Love the flower mailbox also.... AND--that Zinnia is to die for.... Wow!!!!

Have a great weekend.

Betsy

It's a brugmansia and if you want heavy bloom, you need to feed it heavily! L

Everything looks beautiful. I have a few brugs this year and am still anxiously awaiting blooms! Patience is certainly a virtue.

I really like your gardening/housework sign. It does a great job of summarizing the way I feel about gardening as opposed to anything else.

Nice pictures, especially the b&w of the bench. I am 95% sure that the one you asked about, in the pot, is a split-leaf philodendron.

Hi Darla Dear, The Philodendron has already been IDed I see. If ONLY it would grow in the PNW.

Love the Stafish Brugmansia and the cherry-red zinnia.

Have a great Labor Day. :)

Good morning, Darla,
Your camera 'playing' was fun to see today. Really nice photos and pretty Lord Baltimore and trumpet. Love your hanging buckets. The potted philodendron is a split-leaf or selloum. There are hundreds of varieties of philodendrons but this one if put in the ground will grow very large. I have some that are 12 feet tall and almost as wide. They make a great backdrop when layering or they can make a statement as a specimen mixed with other plants somewhere. You must have been moving it indoors in winter because it will be knocked back with freezing temps but comes back quickly down here in the south. :-) Other than that they are carefree and I wouldn't be without them in my garden!
Have a great weekend.

The Brug is really awesome. I bet they were nice to have with the full moon last week or the week before that.

I believe the "tree" is Philodendron selloum.
