Bloomin' Tuesday...

Drop by http://msgreenthumbjean.blogspot.com to see what blooms are holding on this second Tuesday of November....

We are at 36 degrees right now at 5:51 a.m. As we all know the temperature continues to drop until the sun comes up, so we will probably dip to 34 or 33 this morning. All in all with four mornings right at or below freezing the flowers/plants don't look too bad. Of course the Coleus and some of the Impatiens got burned, it's just that time of the year.

Gerbera Daisy
Late Rudbeckia
This Snapdragon was planted here in Nov. of 2009. It was a little experiment to see how long I could keep one alive.
Not too bad huh?
Have a few Monarchs still flitting around, don't think they will make their journey...sigh

Looks like we are headed into a dry spell, again. 40's and 70's in the forecast...any watering tips for the winter?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I am Thankful that our cold snap is over for awhile.
Your weather is colder than ours, it's 56 at right around 6:30. It looks like the sun will be shining today and that's great after a couple of gray days. I'd say that snapdragon is one little hardy plant.
Have a great week ~ FlowerLady
Hi Darla, I don't do well with snap dragons. You'll get longer cold spells thn we do. I need to take some pictures of the yard and post.
Enjoy this beautiful weather!
Your weather is a colder than ours too. It's in the 50's here today, but the nighttime temps are dipping down to the 30s this week. Winter is coming.... :( Sorry to hear about those poor Monarchs.
You are quite a bit colder than here. I'm determined this winter to enjoy what the season brings instead of whining about it. So, we'll see how I do. Your little snapdragon is tenacious and pretty at the same time. I love snaps and try to grow them in late winter/early spring here but they won't make it into May.
The gerber daisy is perfect. Those monarchs didn't get the memo to move on I guess. I was surprised to see a painted lady in our garden Saturday since we've had a freeze.
What a pretty Gerbera daisy! Hopefully, my 2yo plants will throw off some blooms soon. They have just leafed out nicely again, after hiding in the ground all summer. I'm still trying to figure them out. It seems they will only bloom in cool weather here. Gardening is just a big experiment that requires a lot of patience, isn't it?
Hi Darla. Hard to believe you are having cooler weather. I hope it doesn't get like last year for you all. You still have some lovely blooms in your garden that the cold has not done in.
I'm glad it's warming up a bit too Darla. By the way, a couple of my followers just loved your idea about what to do with that little abandoned building I posted a pic of on Sunday! I liked it too.
It's very odd when Florida gets colder then White Rock. We still have not had any frost here. Lot's of rain, and a inordinate amount of sun for November, not that we are complaining about that.
Your flowers still look great, and love the header.
G'morn Darla ~ Every time I read your header caption, I have to chuckle. I sometime wonder about our relatives ...
We got down to the 29 already but today is the beginning of a slight warming streak ... 60s. Of course we are going to be o/t so we won't get to enjoy it.
Have a beautiful day ~
I'm glad your garden came through the cold spell without too many losses. Your snapdragon blossoms are pretty. We're back to dry weather up here, so I guess it's coming your way.
36 is pretty cold for you guys but those monarchs sure don't seem to mind!
Not sure about watering during the winter. I don't do it. If it rains great and if it doesn't, oh well.
Your flowers look so pretty! I'm visiting Savannah right now and it's so much colder here than I expected! Hopefully it warms back up before we leave!
Hi Darla, We're dry again up here --so we can't send you anything. However, when we get all of our big snows (ha ha), I'll send you a bowl full... Okay?????
Your flowers are still pretty... Glad you made it through the cold weather this past weekend....
Poor Monarchs! Wish we keep them safe till spring.
Cold up here, too. Jack Frost is doing what he does best.**sigh**
I noticed that Angel Trumpet Tree the yesterday. Mr. Frost did a number to it. Funny though, it still looks interesting.
