Oldest Big Kid, Little Frost and Poinsettias..

Our oldest Big Kid made it in from Daytona Beach and was very quickly talked into playing , "Guitar Hero- Rock Band", whatever they call it. This is our play, craft, computer and catch-all room. This morning we woke to a cool 37 degrees with a little dusting of frost...
I am so very proud of my Poinsettias that I have kept 'alive' for 1 year.....they said I couldn't do it.
So, without me dragging out any Christmas decorations yet...It's starting to look like Christmas!

Yes the weather was so perfect yesterday and it looks like the same today! I'm still trying to recover from eating too much. I'm loving these cold nights too.

Those are gorgeous. I've never seen a poinsettia that wasn't in a pot at Xmas time; seeing them bloom in the ground is wonderful for me!

Lots of frost here too. In fact, my angel trumpets finally got nipped. Congrats on keeping the poinsettias alive!

I'm with Lois. I've never seen one actually in the ground, either. Congratulations!
We had frost this morning too. I am ready for spring!

How perfect! I had beautiful poinsettias when I lived a little further north in Florida but can't seem to keep them alive where I am now. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Great job Darla. My poinsettia experiment is going to fizzle I am afraid. It doesn't look like it is going to turn or bloom. It was worth a shot though.
Frost in your area? Wow. I hate to hear that. We had our first snow here this morning. Yuck!

Darla, I had issues with poinsettia too and never grew them beyond the season. I had the same with firetail but this last year it made it. I'm so pround of myself as you are I'm sure. Your oldest is gorgeous.

Your daughter is lovely. Glad she had a safe trip to your place.

I have a poinsettia that someone threw out last year. It's still in the same little pot and it just started blooming recently.

Do you have yours in the ground?

I can't believe you got frost, but you are further north that we are.

Have a great weekend ~ FlowerLady

P.S. Thanks for the name of that hibiscus I have.

Hard to believe it's colder there than it is here! I've never seen anyone get poinsettias rebloom. There was a house near us that put fake ones in their garden at Christmas time, kind of strange looking. Yours looks very pretty!

Thanks for stopping by at my blog. As you can see I don't have a theme. It gets to be more creative and sometimes just plain off the wall. I like to treat my blog as an artistic expression and or a great place to meet and make new friends. You have a nice looking family.

Hi Darla...tku for dropping by my blog and leaving a comment. I do hope that your Calendula are successful.
Poinsettia, I am never very good with them....they are such a lovely part of Christmas......well done you.

Love your header by the way.....

Good for you, Darla, you've got some really pretty poinsettias. I haven't tried them in a really long time but I used to have some that grew really pretty. You've got me thinking about it again. Looks like yours will be ready with their red leaves just in time for Christmas. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Hugs.

37 degrees in Florida is too cold! It was 31 here. My honey was sitting 18 feet up in a tree watching for Bambi! (well he would say the big one). I don't know that I would go out in the cold to do that. You gotta love it. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

Wow, frost already, none here as of yet. However, we are suppose to get some here in the Jacksonville area tonight, my low is suppose 38. North Jacksonville already got some yesterday morning with a low of 35.

Your Poinsettia's look great!

Poinsettias as a 'perennial' is something I'll never see :( I'm amazed at how tall they get too! Love the big smiles on the girls...have a great weekend, Darla!

Those poinsettias look so lush and healthy. Great job, Darla! Your daughter and friend look like they are having fun. Our almost 28 year old daughter asked for a Wii for Christmas. She has a friend who has one, and they have been getting some exercise with it.

Oh, you mentioned on my blog that you are sick of squirrels. Well, I took a bunch of photos of some high up in a tree today, and I'm sure some will end up in my blog next Saturday. I may even post a video if one of them turned out. I haven't taken them off of my camera yet.
