Great shots of something not seen every day. Yellow jackets - YIKES! We had a nest in the ground in the middle of some huge azaleas. It had to be removed professionally. It was just a little hole in the ground that led to a HUGE nest.

Beautiful pictures!
I like to watch nature sharing. It is always surprising to me.
Some things are just not a danger to others and I guess they each know their place.

Great photos! I doubt the butterflies and the yellow jackets have anything to argue about. It looks like there is plenty of juice for all of them.

Great pictures! I hope to see some of those here! The Monarchs, that is, not the yellow jackets!!!

Beauty is all around us even when it involves Yellow Jackets...so long as they don't bother us. The Monarch is gorgeous...I once did an afghan for my sister of a huge Monarch. She recently returned it to me. I still love it.
BlessYourWeek and Happy BDay to your daughter...time flies

Amazing pictures, who would think a yellow jacket would share, though? You have the proof!

Happy Birthday to your daughter!

Hi Darla Dear, Happy birthday to daughter!

What a sweet [literally and figuratively] illustration of nature, the sharing of food. There's a lesson in this.

Happy Birthday to your daughter... Is this the one who is getting married????

In the first picture, I think the butterfly was spreading his wings out to hide all of that great pear juice and save it just for himself... Then he decided to share with the bee. Wasn't that nice of him?????

Cute post.
Hugs,
Betsy

Pretty butterfly. Happy Birthday to your daughter. I just noticed NanaK said they were nesting in the ground there. They are nesting in the ground at my place. I hate those biting little buggers.

The butterfly is much braver than I am. I don't want to share anything with Yellow Jackets.
I hope your daughter has a very wonderful birthday.

The orange outweighs the yellow as my kitty will atest too! Beautiful photos of a perfect butterfly.

Hey Darla, I'm so sad(embarrassed)to say my Firespike just sat there and looked at me all summer long. Poor thing. Our June and July temps probably stunted it.

By the way, these are great pics!

That is a pretty butterfly. I noticed on Friday that our back yard neighbors have a pear tree. I never noticed it before. There is no one living there now. I went back to look at the pear tree. Lots of pears on the ground, with lots of bees. No butterflies though.

Do you know what kind of pear that is? Kind of looks like the kind we had growing up, but I dont know what they were.
