Wedding Prep #2---Card Box

Continuing the Whimsy Theme for the wedding. This is the cardbox that goes on the gift table. Now, we (hubby) needs to cut a slit in the top box and two larger slits in the two bottom boxes. Guests put their cards in the top box and it falls to the bottom box. I will put a little velcro between the boxes to keep them secure. This is mimicking the cake. The only difference will be a large icing bow on top of the cake. The cake layers will all be different flavors as well. I believe the bottom layer will be chocolate chip! Gail at http://clayandlimestone.blogspot.com/ your cake question has been answered.

Know what's special about these hat boxes? They were my Mom's. She decoupaged them in cute flower paper and had them sitting in the corner of one of her rooms. When she passed my Dad gave them to me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I am Thankful again to cross off another task!
Hi Darla Dear, I LOVE them! They look so professionally done. Your talent both baffles and inspires me. And the sentimental value is the "icing on the cake" so to speak. :)
Darla you are one busy woman! I love the whimsy idea for a wedding. The cake will look incredible! And the gifts for the guests are amazing. You are going to need a long vacation after this wedding is over. I think you should become a "wedding planner" now that you have it down. Such great unique ideas!
What a clever idea. It is one that could have been very useful at the last wedding we went to. This will be a beautiful wedding. How lucky to be able to have it in the garden.
Nice! My second daughter's wedding cake looked like hat boxes, subtle shimmering stripes and such, it was beautiful and incredibly tasty. What fun doing a daughter's wedding, isn't it!?!
