Daffodils
2011 started off with over an inch and a half of rain. Our temps for this week will be in the 30's and 60's with more rain coming mid-week. I do appreciate the rain, although I am asking Mother Nature to let the soil dry some between waterings.

Lupine has always been one of my favorite for how its foliage holds water droplets.

Definitely a lot to look forward to! I can't wait to see some of those same things around here.
Yesterday I noticed some daffodils starting to pop up in our yard, but I think they should probably stay down for a few more weeks.

Ahhh, the promise of spring! How exciting to find new seedlings popping up everywhere. I wish I could figure out how to get a good perennial garden going in this climate zone.

Oh ---I love seeing those crocus plants and daffodils coming up.... That makes me yearn for spring... We have a longer time to wait than you do...

Those Lupine leaves are beautiful. There's a lupine native to the Southeast that I would love to try. It grows in sandy soil.
Oh daffodils, crocus and poppies! What a difference a zone makes - huh? I will live vicariously through your garden blog. It's exciting to see those seedlings popping up.
This is the time of year I start to get jealous of you seeing all those seedlings. We still have frozen snow on the ground here, and I wonder what's going on underneath it. I'm about ready to buy some seeds to start wintersowing with so I can see some green sprouts.
I envy your early spring. Your plants look glorious in their green dresses and a bit of red trim here and there. Have a leisurely walk every morning and keep us thirsting for more. I love it. I still want your greenhouse.

Looking good!!! I have some bulbs comming up. We had alot of rain too. It didn't rain today...but then I had to fight the fog! I'm just never happy I guess!! LOL

I have decided that I am going to enjoy seeing signs of spring in warmer places and not feel sorry for myself this year.
I do feel a little sorry for myself, though, that lupine doesn't stay alive for me. I did have a couple plants have lovely blooms for a couple seasons, but since then, I haven't had them survive the winters.
