OMG! You made me laugh! You have so many helpers Darla! Delegate! Letthem show their creative side! We just brought our tree. Smells good. Thank you so much for your comments! I 'd LOVE to have bromeliad, but It's too cold for it here, I think.Summer is OK, but winter? Have fun decorating your tree!I'm sure it will look great!
LOL! And just when you get all done it is about time to put it all back. I am with Tatyana, delegate. Have fun it is always special when you still have younger children at home.
Darla, I don't blame you, I would feel like that crushed can snowman, too. Glad I don't have that much to put up because....... what goes up, has to come back down!
I'm glad I'm not the only one whose house looks like that. It's a good time to really dust though with all the clean and empty surfaces :) Once it's all out though it's worth it and so fun to look at. My three year old is so into Christmas this year it makes everything extra fun.
That's always the hardest part, Darla. This year---I did my decorating gradually (took me parts of 3 days) --so that helped some. GONE are the days of trying to do everything in one day or so....
Once it's done, I can relax and just enjoy it... The worst part for me is getting it all put back away in January...Oh Well--it's worth it.
LOL that's hilarious! The snowcan is excellent!!! We're decorating tomorrow so I'll see if I need to empty the beer can in order to make my own snowcanman - LOL
I laughed out loud at that last photo!! Every year I feel like I have more and more xmas decorations to drag out. I'm thinking about donating some this year.
We just put a small artificial tree up, and our grandson helped us put the ornaments on tonight. We didn't put many of our decorations out. I did have Grandson arrange the nativity figures.
hi darla, thank you for stopping by and oh girl i know just how you feel. My xmas decor is done but only because a couple years ago i decided to simplify things. Love your post, you are too funny! hugs janet
I can understand why you feel like that screaming figure, but I also know that everything will be beautiful when you get it done. We've finally got our decorations up and we're enjoying them.
I know what you mean. I usually do it over days, but this year I did it all in one day from cutting to decorating to the whole house decorating. It looked like a bomb went off for a little while. but then when you are done... and it is so nice!
Darla, girl that snowman at the end looks like me right now after shopping non-stop for 10 hours with my grand daughter today ha ha!! Where do you stuff all the every day stuff when you put up your Christmas stuff....thats the problem I have is finding a place to stuff every thinh ha ha!! May you have a great day on your side of the mountain girl...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
This is such a cute post Darla. The easiest Christmas decorating I ever did was the Christmas we moved here 7 yrs. ago. We only unpacked the Christmas stuff (not the everyday doo dads)and things went so much quicker! Of course all the unpacking was there lurking as soon as the holiday was over! I know you will enjoy all your pretty decorations soon! Enjoy!
Darla ~ What a wonderful, humorous post for this time of year.
Decorating for Christmas is a lot of work, but oh the joy and delight to sit back and enjoy. To me, the worst part is packing it all back away. It always makes me feel a bit sad.
You're looking very festive! I took things down one day and put up another. Seemed a little easier. Love the before and after garden shots. I think I'm glad to take a break from gardening in the winter but love seeing your blooms! Jean
Yes! Only we have to haul them up the basement stairs. Over the summer, I found a bunch of Christmas decorations that we missed putting up last year. I wish I could remember where I saw them. We haven't decorated yet. I keep putting it off, but the girl is pushing for them. She'd be more of a help if she wasn't so involved with decorating her bedroom for Christmas. At least my kids put up and decorate the tree.
Funny! And cute. I would never have thought of making a crushed can into a snowman. And, for me, anything can be made into a snowman. And this is proof!!! I hope you got a good night's sleep and are all rested up for decorating the main attraction. The tree!!!!
I totally agree, the take down process can be such a hassle, well the put up process too, I've gotten very remiss in my deco, I did set my homeade tinsel tree with ORANGE lights on the dining table, that's about it for now.
seeya and thanx for visiting my blog. LM the best is yet to come!!!

Oh Darla! What a great little snowman! I know exactly how he feels!
And the organization you have in your disorganization is amazing. How do you do it, woman!
you'll get a satisfying reward when you're finally done. ;)
Merry CHRISTMAS to you and your family! :)

Don't feel bad, my son pointed out to me yesterday that I still had Halloween decorations up in our family room, LOL!
