Bloomin' Tuesday...Wind & Rain!

Cleome Butterfly Bush
The Morning Glory on the left of the lattice has had enough rain. The Hyacinth Bean Vine to the right seems to be loving it.

The Clematis has made it to the top of the lattice on the right, Blackeyed Susan Vine on the left.

Catherine over at http://agardenerinprogress.blogspot.com/ here are a few of the Torenia that I planted over 3 years ago. (remember I only planted a cell pack of nine) This isn't the only area in this garden where they have reseeded. I have also moved over 100 of them to other gardens this year.

I reported yesterday that we received over 2 inches of rain Sunday Night. Yesterday not only did we receive over an inch of rain we had 60+ MPH wind. A large Oak Tree fell across one of our busy streets and landed on a car with a young teenager and her father in it. Sadly I report the girl did not make it and the father is in critical condition. We also had another tree fall on a mobile home splitting the home in to. The woman just had an estimate about 6 months ago to have the tree removed.
This is how it looked around our yard last evening.
We just needed one more small harvest of peas to go with dinner.
What a husband!
Remember the Aloe Bloom I was so proud of?
This poor Cactus has survived many wind storms.
Birdbath that had a container in it.
Full Sun Garden was kicked around.
Double Shepard's Hook was gently laid on it's side, one container is balanced on a small trellis while the other container is sitting on the ground.
This Salvia landed smack in the middle of the Walking Iris.
Amaranthus was blown around a bit.
and both of my Guara's look like this.
Those of you familiar with the afternoon Thunderstorms in Florida know exactly what I'm posting here. It honesty felt like a Hurricane. On Sunday night at one of the local Gas Stations the entire awning was laid on it's side in the parking lot, I'm talking the large awnings that cover about 12 or more pumps!
No more Rain Dancing Please!

Weekend Sightings..

It won't be long before my "Brother and Sister" are lost among the Torenia. Hubby has been working hard on making a trench for the ground water to drain.

Locust are showing up!
We saw quite a few Butterflies.

I captured this one in flight.

The Bees were also hard at work.
Balloon Flower Platycodon grandiflorus
After about 3 weeks with only 2/10 of an inch of rain http://muddybootdreams.blogspot/ and I scheduled a rain dance. (Don't know how long it's been since she received rain) Apparently the dance was successful. Last evening we received over 2 inches of rain in just a few hours. Feast or Famine!! Thankful for it though. Grab your umbrella and head on over to http://muddybootdreams.blogspot.com/ !
