GBBD -- Two Gardens

Head on over to Carol's at http://maydreamsgardens.blogspot.com/ and see what's blooming on this April 15, 2010..

Ms. Doris Three Doors Down got a new planter. Isn't it pretty?
Ms. Doris it out of town, my girls are watering her gardens for her. (Now wouldn't this be the best time for me to go a pinching?)
Jacob's Ladder--with foliage like this who needs blooms?
Iris
Azaleas

She did it to me again this year. Her Callas are blooming and mine aren't even out of the soil yet.
Rose
Rose
Viburnum? Thanks for the ID Tom...Snowball Virburnum.
Lovely shade of green
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few things from my gardens.
Pansies are still hanging around.
One of my three wheelbarrows. (Ms. Doris just gave me another one)
Ranunculus
Clematis purchased off the distressed rack last summer for one dollar..no name. I love the white with the green.
My mailbox area.
What I'm thinking these days is about Kenny Chesney's song, "Don't Blink". The old man being interviewed about the secret to life. He says, "Don't blink, you might just miss your babies growing like mine did......" are the days moving by fast for you too?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today I am Thankful for the check in my spirit to slow down and enjoy life.

That's a snowball viburnum. I love Jacob's ladder. The vendor sent me some this week, but it's nearly bloomed out. I can't put it on the table because of that. It's one I had never seen in person. Need to add it to my want list.

Me, I'm thankful for my day off.

My pansies are still hanging on too. I don't want to pull them up just yet.

I have the Firespike planted but so far it isn't doing anything. I'm not sure if it is happy or not.

Great blooms of yours and your neighbor. We sure are having wonderful weather aren't we? I love it when it is like this.

Enjoy your lovely surroundings. You've done a wonderful job.

Hi, Darla, You are my first stop this Bloom Day, well, after May Dreams! I'm in the middle of working on my GBBD post so it'll be up in a bit. Your flowers - and your neighbor's flowers - are just beautiful! I also really like the picture of the 3 baby wrens.

Our Snowball bush is ahead of this one with full fledged white balls of snow. The wheelbarrow is awesome and I need an old one to fill...

The baby birds are so cute! The wrens are the best with letting you view their baby's and the baby's are pretty good about posing for pictures as well. I was lucky enough to catch one coming out of the shell a few years ago. That is a day I will remember.

The Turkey Buzzard is Icky, We had a flock of them eating a deer by our roadside. Yikes, I think I posted that on Halloween one year as it was scary. I left the deer out though but that is nature cleaning up the mess.

I tried to answer your question about the Stovepipe around the Crabapple tree. I am not sure why I did not make a posting of the process….

Ops forgot to tell you...

Today I am thankful for my hearing the sweet sound of the Chickadee singing in the tree outside my open window....

Don't blink indeed! Our weather is still alternating between very cool and hot so the season is not progressing quite so rapidly as for some. The bloom day posts make me think I need more spring bloomers.

Nice! Everything looks so lush.

Darla, fantastic views of your neighbor's garden, as well as yours! The Ranunculus is so pretty it doesn't look real. And I didn't know you could grow Clematis in Florida. I'd love to give it a try!
Happy Bloom Day!!

Yes they are! I can't believe my grandson is almost 6. I absolutely love the new header with the baby wrens!

Gorgeous flowers! That's a wonderful Jacob's Ladder!

My goodness at the blooms!I"m very familiar with Ms.Doris's planter. We have one just like it and it's what injured my back 9 years ago. That thing is heavy when it has soil in it!

The jacobs ladder is very pretty. Love Doris' new planter, I wish I could find things like that here in my area.

Some very interesting bloomers for this GB day.

I love your header, Darla! I had to go back a second time to see those little opened mouths again before leaving a comment here. Hmmm, I think I'd be tempted to 'pinch' a little here and there at your neighbor's; I'm sure she wouldn't mind:) Lovely blooms--"don't blink" describes the spring so well; everything here is way ahead of schedule, too.

The Jacob's Ladder is awesome. Our pansies have not even started yet but we did finally get rain all night. Thanks for all the eye candy with such beauty-blooms. Have an extra ordinary day.

Don't know if I have mentioned it before but I truly love to read your last lines of thankfullness. It always reminds to be thankful too. You have so many beauties to show today. Loving your $1 clematis. You are very lucky to have neighbors who enjoy gardening and keep their place up. I'm gonna be fixing up a wheelbarrow as soon as I can get it out of the woods. I'm too scared of snakes to go in and get it even on the edge of the woods. A snake was crawling on our parking pad this week - a black snake - none threatening but the boss shot it. I hate them all.

Don't blink is great advice. It's been so warm up here that our iris are sending up flower stalks and our roses are budding. It's just amazing.

LOVE IT! I was *this close* to snapping a pic of my neighbor's dogwood for a bloom day pic! LOL!

Beautiful flowers! Our house was over run by calla lilies and I thought I had pulled them all up last year (had plans to move them to another section of the yard) and they are sprouting though no buds yet.

I never knew about ranunculus until this year--I have to plant some in my garden next year! They are so pretty!

Hi Darla, Both yours and Miss Doris' yards are fabulous.... Do the people who live between you two have a garden???? Bet they don't ---and they just enjoy yours and Doris' ---with none of the hard work!!!!

That Jacob's Ladder is gorgeous.... AND--I love your Clematis... Ours is just getting started here.

Have a wonderful day.

You and Ms. Doris have lovely gardens! Thanks for sharing and isn't it just wonderful to have a reason today to stop and smell the roses?!

I love all the flowers in both gardens! Loving this time of the year! That Ranunculus looks just so gorgeous!

Wow Darla, Ms. Doris must have turbo charged soil! She is lucky to have your girls to water for her, whether you pinch a couple of things or not. I am sure she wouldn't mind if you did. Your header challenge is magnificent! :-)

I love all the pictures, she has a lovely garden and you have a beautiful spread at your mailbox.

I do feel like life is moving fast, so fast that I am already thinking about Christmas!
Watching Noelle has caused me to slow down alot. It's good for me. I will sit sometimes and rock her for hours. She's been really good for me and I can't believe how fast she is growing! It's one thing to see your kids grow up so fast but now my grandbabies are getting up there in age!

Have a blessed day friend,
Robin~♥

Pretty blooms in your garden and your neigbor's. :) Her variegated Jacob's Ladder is striking. I planted that last year and it didn't survive. :(

Ms. Doris's planter is so beautiful, it doesn't need any flowers in it. I love the wheelbarrow full of Pansies. I'm starting to be a big fan of Ranunculus, that's a pretty colored one.

How gorgeous Darla!

Hey, did you ever announce our header challenge theme for next week? Did I miss it somehow?

Oh, Darla, I'm loving Ms. Doris' Jacob's ladder AND that snowball viburnum! Your blooms and pretty arrangements are brightening up my screen right now. So pretty.

P.S. Today I'm thankful for the light and steady rain we are receiving here right in the middle of our usually VERY dry April.
