Loving and Learning About Flowers in My Zone 8-8b Gardens. (with a family photo from time to time) LIFE BEGAN IN A GARDEN...
Today I am thankful for the rain we received over the weekend!
I'm so happy you got your much needed rain! Your blooms look very pretty regardless of the heat. We've been having a lot of hot weather too and I've been watering every day.
I have rain envy! Glad you got your fill! Beautiful blooms!
Good Morning Darla! You have some pretty colored flowers! Love the Painted Lady Hibiscus. Glad you got rain! We need some, too.
Send that rain to us down here! :)
Yay! For the rain.It blew right by here. **sniff**So far my garden is holding its own, too.
Yay, we both had some much needed rain this weekend! We're expecting temps close to 100 later in the week. :( Pretty blooms, you can tell which ones love the heat huh? ;)
So glad you got some rain!!!!
Yay for the rain! I've used up both rain barrels from the little bit we got last week. Having to haul around the hose in the back garden is getting old. But, you seem to have some heat-loving blooms. Hopefully, that lupine will perk up.
Rain is good! Wish we got some, watched the weather radar--two storm cells, one went to the west of us and the other.....yes, went to the east of us! Can't believe how hot your greenhouse temp was....ew.
Darla Dear, I'm so glad you got that much-needed rain or "Free Water" as my husband calls it. What a gorgeous Hibiscus! Looks like you need to invest in a shade cloth for your greenhouse. Love the Gomphrena and the funky Green Envy.
Glad to hear you got some much needed rain. The temps have been terrible for so early but this has been a wild year so far. The Painted Lady Hibiscus is just gorgeous.
I actually got some hail at my house on Sunday night!
The flowers are looking great despite that terrible heat.I know I would be wilting.
Glad you got rain Darla. We keep having it predicted, but nothing happens. We are in extreme drought conditions down here. In spite of the heat, you've got some sweet bloomers. I really like the green zinnia with its' smiling center.Have a great week.FlowerLady
I must say that the garden is looking great even with the heat. Glad you got rain.
Heat wave eh, and you still produce wonderful flowers my friend.
I am so happy to hear that you finally got some rain. What a unique zinnia. I love the green color. I think I tried to grow that one from seed last year, but had no luck.
Wow, no wonder you are thankful for the rain Darla ~ after temperatures like those. We hit 90 two days in a row and are headed back down the the 70's. It's been a cool spring this year. Your garden looks great tho ~ I think you must have discovered all the heat lovers and planted them!
P.S. I CAN'T believe you've never been on a garden tour!!!! I guess I thought everybody loved them like I do. You should try it sometime. :-)
I'm glad you got some rain. Thundered here loudly but not near enough showers. Thankful for what we did get.Love that little green jewel.
Oh, Rain!!!!! How wonderful! And two days! I'm thrilled for you. Now send it my way, please! :)
Rain? Now, let's see. I vaguely remember what that is....it has been so long here in South Central Florida.....please send some our way!
We are in a heat wave here and no rain in site, but that is North East Arkansas. To bad we couldn't save some of that flood water.
Darla I'm still waiting on some rain. Love the green zinnia. How often are you watering your gardens.
Amazing what you produce in that aweful heat. Is that Aloe next flanking your gorgeous Rose Bush? The blooms are so tall. I'm do Envy that Green Zinnia and all it's character. Too cool you got rain. Did it help to cool the air some? Thanks always, for stopping by and being so kind.BlessYourHeart
So happy you got rain finally! Now you'll have even more blooms. Love the green of the zinnia! Jean
I know you are happy about that rain! Now you can have a short break from watering :) I love the Green Envy, I forgot to pick some seeds up, but your post reminded me to get them. I love the Hibiscus!I was by our back fence and saw some color on the other side of the fence (the school yard). It was a pink lupine that must have reseeded from the one that had grown in my yard a couple of years ago. I hope yours reseeds for you.
You captured the rain pics well! I couldn't get them when I tried. Next year Green Envy Zinnias go on my list of have to tries:@)
Rain would make me thankful, too. Darla your flowers are lovely~I think I might try the Green Envy Zinnia~It looks like it's smiling. gail
Awesome on the rain!
I am glad your plants are holding out well in the heat - I don't think it will ever going to warm up here.... Congratulations on your rain!
yay 4 rain...we got a sprinkle on the weekend too, but not enough to prevent me from having to water.I think it is safe to say our FL spring is well and truly OVER for the yr...seems shorter each year too.Love that last photo, even disfigured it is an awesome looking flower.Stay cool..Blessings Kelsie
I have not seen a green Zinnia before. It looks as if it is smiling with its disfigure center.
That fennel is so lacey looking...does it attract butterflies when in bloom???
You have some pretty blooms in the gardens. That Pinecone Lily is so unique. Go ahead and wash your hair in it and tell us what it feels like.
