A Tranquil Place and Anna Ruby Falls...

We had the BEST time in Blue Ridge, GA. This is the road to the Cabin... A Tranquil Place is it's name.
I could not believe this sign when I saw it...I have this on a bench in my garden, it's on my sidebar.
Fightingtown Creek was our backyard.

The most famous local creek for Trout fishing.

We did 'Sit Long and Talk Much' on this swing.
We were captivated with the beauty around us.

We heard this dog barking. My husband says, "There's Rupp." He read in the guest book that this dog visits everyone in the cabins. We opened the door and visited with Rupp for a few minutes and then he was on his way.
We did manage to find Anna Ruby Falls on Friday.
In the heart of the Chattahoochee National Forest. These Falls marks the junction of Curtis and York Creeks. Both creeks begin on Tray Mountain and are fed by underground springs, rain and snow. From the falls, Smith Creek tumbles downhill to Unicoi Lake and then to the Chattahoochee River. Continues south, eventually joining the Appalachicola River in Florida and ending it's 550-mile journey in the Gulf of Mexico!
Just breathtaking!
I love the way the natural rocks were used to make benches along the trail to the Falls.
If you really want to get a way from the hustle and bustle of your daily life, I suggest you visit Blue Ridge Mountains. It truly is A Tranquil Place.

A Tranquil Place is an appropriate name. The Blue Ridge Mountains area is gorgeous. And that Rupp, what a gracious host.

Oh I'm SO glad you all had fun... Isn't that just a fabulous place??? Your cabin looked perfect...

We've been to Anna Ruby (in 2005). It is a gorgeous waterfall.

My question: Did you find some good places to eat???? You know me--always thinking about food.

Hugs,
Betsy

It looks like you had a fabulous time in Blue Ridge. We really enjoyed our visit to Anna Ruby Falls, but we didn't have a nice cabin like you had.

Darla, Is it not the most peaceful place? We are going to check out that trout stream. My husband has never heard of it. I am so glad you got to go and visit this little piece of heaven.

Oh!!!! You were in my world and I loved reading how much you enjoyed it. I'm so sad you weren't able to stop by my little neck of the woods. Well it was a bit far--but way closer than where you are from that's for sure.

The pictures are truly fun to see and you are so pretty. I like that swing right out in the water like that---wonderful.

Oh my gosh, what a spot!!! And what about that Rupp, such a good welcome by that sweet face. This is very similar to the area not far from where I live in Tellico Plains. The adirondack chairs and swings were well used, I am sure. Cool about the same sign too, good karma! :-)

I want to go there! Sounds so relaxing. Even a visit from the resident hound.
There's just something relaxing about the sound of water. Whether it be the ocean or a creek.

What a beautiful place! It's good your husband read about the dog before it showed up. What a hoot! Was that on the Blue Ridge Parkway? We were on part of it in 2007. It was foggy, so we didn't stay on it long. That is a lovely area!
