Fertilizer Friday at Tootsie's!!

Friday, December the 4th, what do you still have blooming? Run on over to Canada http://tootsietime.blogspot.com and see what other gardener's have blooming.

Calendula-Apricot--started from seed, have some buds. See all of the sand? That's from a lot of rain in two days.
Bromeliad-Queen's Tears

My mystery plant has now bloomed. I have not seen one open all the way...Now, do you think this is a Hibiscus? Started from seed.
I do!
Double Knock Out Rose
This is on my 'have to have more' list...Lobelia
Milkweed....I also have the ones with the orange and yellow blooms.
Found this little Zinnia blooming this morning.
Autumn Joy-Sedum
I have Snapdragons tucked in several places, some I started from seed. They are just now beginning to bloom.
Society Garlic

It's 11:30 a.m. here in North Florida, 47 degrees, cloudy with a chance of rain....after 6 inches of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday we would really like the Sunshine Ball to make an appearance.

Darla, For a nano second I feared that was frost. Whew, It was just sand! Six inches of rain is enough for now! I hope you get sunny weather soon. gail

Hi Darla. At first, I thought that you were going to tell us that the sand in picture one was frost.

I also find little zinnias blooming in the most amazing places.

You'll have great luck with Calendula. Frost dosen't even bother them here. But being in FLA you won't have to worry about that! They reseed themselves easily, love that!

How lucky you are to still have all of those beautiful blooms. Guess living in Florida might be the secret huh?

I definitely think that is a hibiscus Darla. Very pretty one too!

We haven't seen much of Mr. Sunshine either. He comes out long enough to tease us and that's it.

We do have a 40% chance of snow this evening.

In the dead of winter you will still have flowers blooming!!! All I have blooming are some Pansies and a Thanksgiving Cactus.

I thought you had a real hard frost until I read the sand reference. What a relief. Somebody has to give me a flower fix this winter ;-)

Yep, its a Hibiscus. I planted one in a too small pot so it never got around to blooming. Next spring it goes into the ground. I love the dark foliage and pink blooms of it.

Beautiful blooms...those snapdragons brought a smile to me...my Mom used to plant them for my children, they would pick them and "make them talk"...good memories!!!

Hi Darla! I've never seen this type of Bromeliad! Beautiful! The next one does look like Hibiscus. You have a lot of blooms! Is there any time when you don't have any flowers? I doubt. Lucky you! Have a great weekend!

It's not that much warmer there than it is here! Hope you get to see the sun soon.
You do always seem to have so much in bloom. I love your unknown Hibiscus, the color is so pretty!

I thought frost, not sure which does the most damage. We might get a little snow tonight...just hope it is after I get home from work.

It is Red Hot Poker you saw on my blog. Prissy me, calls it Kniphofia because I like saying that.

I'm afraid we'll be frozen, come Sunday Morning. Janie down on the Texas Coast had snow today.

Did you lose interest in Blotanical?

Go to your Plot on Blotanical, click on the My Blog tab, then click Edit.

I think if you click Yes to the Feeds question, it will fill in that URL line.

If all else fails, go to Help and send a message to the help desk. Stuart is caught up in renovations of Blotanical, but he'll get back to you.

Hi Darla. Lots and lots still happening in your yard! I guess it's year around for you in Florida tho?? How fun would that be?!!! Your unknown hibiscus is a beauty. I had one with dark foliage once but the leaves were a lot finer ~ there must be a zillion varieties??

ps My makeshift greenhouse is actually my bathroom ~ I have a huge glass block wall on the south side and another window on the east. Combining all the sun with humidity from the tub & shower makes it the perfect place to grow and store plants. I WISH I had a real greenhouse but this one works since I don't.

Beautiful, Darla... Almost all of our colors are gone til spring. We do have some Pansies planted --so hopefully they will last through winter.

Our Sedum is gone also.... SO--it's nice to see yours!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

How fun to live somewhere warm where flowers are still looking good! Actually, while hanging my outdoor Christmas decorations here in Central PA I noticed my snapdragons are still blooming! They looked beautiful but weren't really working with my Christmas theme :). Thanks for visiting my blog and taking the time to comment!

My first thought when I saw that first picture was also frost. We're not used to seeing sand on flowers here in the mountains! Thanks for sharing your beautiful blooms with us now that all of ours are gone!

You have such a nice assortment of blooms. I eye society garlic in the spring, knowing it's an annual here, but don't plant it. One of these years, I think I'll go for it.

I also want to plant more milkweed, since I'm a certified waystation for monarchs now.

I just noticed Gail's comment. I thought that was frost at first, too.

DEAR DARLA,
I AM SO VERY SORRY I HAVE NOT GOTTEN TO VISIT YOUR BLOG AS MUCH AS I HAVE WANTED.
I TAKE VERY SERIOUSLY THE BLOGS I FOLLOW AND I AM VERY MUCH INTERESTED IN WHAT IS GOING ON IN THEIR LIFE.
YOUR FLOWERS ARE GORGEOUS...SO VERY PRETTY WITH SO MANY DIFFERENT TEXTURES. I LOVE ROCKS AND I WAS VERY INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE CLEMATIS....MINE USE TO BE BEAUTIFUL BUT I WOULDN'T LET MY HUSBAND PRUNE IT BECAUSE MY DAD PRUNED MOTHER'S AND RUINED IT. I NOW THINK MY BEAUTIFUL CLEMATIS IS RUINED....I PRAY FOR REBIRTH WHEN SPRING COMES.
WHAT STATE DO YOU LIVE IN THAT YOU STILL HAVE PLANTS BEAUTIFUL LIKE THAT.
I LOVE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE SETTING IN THE CHAIR.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY TO SEE ME. I LOVE VISITORS.

Been cold and wet up here too. I'm ready for the Sunshine Ball myself.
