Welcome Winter! and stuff....

The official temperature at the airport here in North Florida this morning read 29 degrees! A tad bit chilly for us..it was a blustery cold yesterday. We have received almost 10 inches of rain for the month of December. Forecast for Christmas-- in the 70's with rain. I'll take the 70's but would like to skip the rain.

Here are a few random garden shots to help warm you up. Photos taken yesterday.

Sidekick's Mom brought me a fantastic Christmas present yesterday...

Even Frosty knows where to take a girl...
to warm her up!!

Somebody's got your number buying the lovely planter. Can't wait to see what you fill it with. Your gardens still look so good. Mine are pretty barren since I cut everything down - just waiting on some seeds to show themselves. We have had an enormous amount of rain fall here. Broke a record set in 1839 - we have so far received 13+ inches. And it feels chilly here about the same temp as you. Hope you have a fabulous day as we count down now.

PS I'm looking forward to spring.

Darla,

I am a new blogger and this is my first visit to your blog. I did come across a wonderful blog chuck full of great cookie recipes: http://oliviaadventures.blogspot.com/

I am jealous that you still have flowers in your garden. I am in NJ and was hit hard by the blizzard.

Merry Christmas!
Deborah

Hi Darla~~ 29 degrees? Are you kidding me? That's some crazy weather, especially because for the last two days I was outside without a sweater--short sleeves! The thermometer says 50 now but it's supposed to drop back to normal 40s later today. I love your new planter--oh the possibilities! Love the frog enmeshed in sedum. Great photos of frosty too. And the PINK gerbera is it? SCRUMPTIOUS. I hope the rain lets up soon.

Darla, Did you lose anything to the frost? Frost blankets and old sheets save us each spring! It's too late to use them now...it's clearly winter! Hoping you're all set for the holidays and they are filled with love! gail

That is a lot of rain! It's been pouring here too.
Your garden is looking really pretty, I love the bed with the stone edging.
Aren't the old Christmas movies fun to watch?!
BTW The Pineapple sage you sent is already showing new growth!

Yikes, that is cold! You were only one degree warmer than us this morning, but it did warm up nicely. We could go out without a coat even. Thanks for showing the flowers, we needed to see that. And I could smell the sweet alyssum right through the computer screen, almost. Happy Solstice! :-)

Now that is cold! That is colder than where we are here in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is beautiful though with the snow. I will post pictures as soon as Maranda & Lane see the wedding post.

Girl we finally have had beautiful weather the last two days. Before that? 5 straight days of rainy gray.

That new planter is so cute. I know whatever you put in it will look great!

Thanks for the warm up! You have a nice assortment of blooms, and some awesome gifts!

I chose my gift from Larry this year, a new garage door opener. We got it just in time for the cold and snow, and I don't have to fiddle with it to get the door to stay down.

I'd take 70's for Christmas as well, but I don't think we'll get it. We are being threatened with rain on Christmas Eve and Christmas, however. Your flowers are still gorgeous.

Your garden is still pretty down there, even with a bit of frost bite.
Frosty's the MAN! Love him.
My friend is spending the week down there for Christmas. Taking the kids to Disney. She's disappointed they didn't get the memo she sent about warm temps!
