Cottage Flora Thursday and FF

Does anyone know this vine? It's popping up all over the place.Isn't this Canna a beautiful shade of pink? Grace? It's a dwarf like the yellow one still in the container to the right of the photo below this one.

Do you like pink and yellow together? I'm wondering if they would look good planted together?

Oh yes - put yellow and pink together. They compliment well. Gorgeous canna. I've never seen one like that.

I cannot help you with the vine. It has pretty blooms so enjoy it coming up. I am certain someone will help you out on the name.
You are so right the pink on the Canna is so pretty. I bet you can leave them in the ground in your area too which is so much better than digging them every fall.
Hope you are feeling better.

Your vine looks like some type of morning glory maybe??? Pink and yellow look fine together in my eyes. I will show you that color scheme soon with a 4 O'clock...

Yellow and pink look great together. In fact I think yellow gives things around it a nice pop. The Canna is gorgeous.

Not for sure, but can your vine be wild sweet potato? It is everywhere here. Can be invasive. It looks like morning glory. I pull as it grows all over everything. Love the color on you canna. Pink & yellow is pretty together.

We had a wild vine like that when we lived in Texas it was at the edge of the woods. I have forgotten the name of it.You know how old people are-- they forget a lot. LOL

I've never seen a pink Canna bloom...it's very pretty and much nicer than the red/orange ones I am used to seeing. Pink and yellow together work for me too :)

And "NO" I am not watching Y&R still .. ok ... maybe when I channel surf it sort of falls on that channel but after a few seconds I click out of there .. just for a few seconds though ... REALLY !!!!!!!

I love pink and yellow together - right now that's all we've got blooming: yellow Rudbeckia and pink Phlox, along the stone wall behind the house.

Your little volunteer vine looks to be convolvulus -- or bindweed, a wild sort of morning glory. It is lovely, but it can be a major pain in a garden, as it will spread like the Dickens, and wind its way all over your "on purpose" plantings, choking them if allowed to grow too rampantly.

So if it is at an edge of a wood or wild place, away from precious plants, let it run wild! Otherwise, you might want to yank it out where you find it before it does its Boston Strangler routine on your borders!

(I know this from sad experience last year!)

Yes, yes and yes! It is a wonderful, magical shade of pink. I love it! I bet it would look great with the yellow. That long border with the Sweet Potato vine is magnificent. So much to see and so lush! I hope someone has been able to ID the vine for you. Pretty little flowers on it but you don't want something seeding all over the place.

I'm not sure of the vine either, but the color of the flowers sure is pretty. Love the Canna, I think I've mostly only seen red and orange before.

Hi Darla,
Sorry, I am no help with identifying your mystery vine. I do like some shades of pink and yellow together. I especially like the combination of those two colors when there is also white added to the floral mix.

Karen said...

Darla, I don't know what the vine is either, but it's blue, so that automatically makes me covet it. Love the canna bloom, such a glorious pink! You know me, all colors work as far as I'm concerned. If it's a color, I'm for it.

Oooh... I've got that purple vine too. Yes it's pretty at first, but if you leave it there, it will take over. I'm still trying to get it out of my rose bed. Re-seeds like crazy.

I want one of those dwarf cannas. Love that shade of pink.

I started reading the comments to see if you got an answer about what the mystery flower is, but decided to just give my answer without reading them all. It looks like morning glory to me.

I love pink and yellow together, and I also like to throw in some orange.
