Birds, Birds, Birds...

In about an hour yesterday I saw many different birds. Here are a few that I captured in our front yard.

Woodpecker-Red Bellied

Blue Jays
Mourning Doves
Song Sparrows
Nuthatch
Male Cardinal in the middle of Song Sparrows, click to see them.

Brown-headed Cow birds with Song Sparrows

Red Winged Black Bird.

Birds seen but not captured were House Wren, Pine Warbler, Crow, Hawk,Tufted Titmouse and
Goldfinch. It was a very busy day at the feeders.
Today our weather is very unstable. Thunderstorms, Tornado Watches and Warnings and Flash Flood Warnings...........all around us. It is rumbling and bumbling out there with a great lightning show! Temperature 61 F.
Today I am thankful for a safe shelter, our home.

What a big variety of birds. I think you should do the backyard bird count next month, you'd have a lot to count.
Hope the weather isn't too bad, I saw on the news this morning about the storms heading to Florida.

We have had almost 4 inches of rain this morning...

Those are all wonderful bird pictures Darla! I've had a lot of those same birds at my feeders too. No kidding about the weather! I barely got back in the car from dropping my grandson off at school and the bottom dropped out. Then I had to go to the doctor all the way across town. Once I got out of there, I ended up having to go way out of my way just to get to work because of all the flooding! I hope this lets up by tonight.

Hi Darla, It's great that you have Red-winged Blackbirds at your feeders. I have seen ONE of them since living here --but none close to the feeders. You are lucky!!!!

Keep on taking the birdie pictures for those of us who LOVE birds.

Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Darla! As a follow up to the comment you left me regarding the Medical post.... Yes, I do that cough thing exactly as you described when my heart either races or beats irregularly and it does work for me at least. It works a bit better for stopping the irregular beat than it does the racing. Sometimes I have to do it a few times, but thankfully so far it has worked. I'm sure that by doing that in combination with the meds that your doctor gave you will help tremendously. Also, I notice that if I worry about my heart racing it does it even more from the stress so I try to tell myself that everything is going to be OK in an effort to get myself to calm down... of course that's easier said that done when your in the midst of experiencing a racing heart. Many hugs to you!

You did get a variety in your post. I am down to a few odd sparrows, a couple of dove and a now and then red-bellied woodpecker. At the moment there are no birds here.

Sweet Bay--we had originally thought they were Chipping Sparrows but were quickly corrected, how do you tell the difference?

How wonderful to have so many different types of birds visit your feeder. We have the woodpeckers and mourning doves too :^)

Your feeders have been as busy as ours, but at least our weather isn't quite as wild as what they are predicting for you. You got some great pictures today.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your right, I could have missed the chairs but my neighbor stayed by them for me. If he had not been there I would have gone in the pj's.
Where is Flowerville Florida? I'm in Orlando

love all the bird photos... I am a avid bird watcher. Yesterday a huge pileated woodpecker landed on my feeder. Their wing spans are huge-They look so prehistoric!

Have a great weekend!

Hi
You have such a nice variety of birds in your yard!
No, I haven't found out anything about my old document..it is really difficult to find someone who can decipher it. I tried an auto translation and am getting a few words (Polish).

I just love those woodpeckers. I've seen more this year than any. Birds are winters flowers in my mind. We too are having unstable weather. I need to shut this computer down and hope the power doesn't go out:)

I would have loved to have been there Darla... I have little luck in my garden as there's far to many cats about to put up feeders... I still manade to see the odd one of two.. but if I want good bird pictures I would drive out to a local bird feeding station a few of us have set up on the edge of the moors...

I have a post up today for you..
