Header Challenge Day...

Today's Header Topic "ICE" was chosen by http://imac-photosfromthemindseye.blogspot.com/ be sure to visit him along with http://thefishingguy.blogspot.com/ and http://womtig.blogspot.com/ to see whom you think has the best idea of "ICE".

Everyone knows that is has been very cold in North Florida (everywhere for that matter) we haven't been out of the 40's all week. This weekend will be the teens and 30's. We are so not used to this much cold for this long. BUT, when the temperature is going to be below freezing for several hours my husband always makes me icicles by running the sprinkler in the trees over night...(What a timely topic Imac)

I imagine if we would have had some moisture in the air we may have actually had some sort of icicles from Mother Nature..

He ran the sprinkler, Monday night the 4th, I took some photos the 5th, today the 6th-- icicles are still there!! (told you it's cold)

Try to visit all the entries and leave a comment, we love to read what you think!!

Today I am grateful for a warm home..

Oh Darla - I love it girl. You were brave to stand under the tree for that great photo. Mmmm.

It is so white. It reminds me of milk instead of water. I wonder why this happened this way?

The photography is excellent.

Oh my Darla, those are too cool! Doesn't your sprinkler freeze up? We can't even use the hose when it is this cold. Hoping for a warm up on Monday.

I will be sending you some seeds, not part of the seed swap soon. :-)

If I forget how cold it must be there, I can think how very beautiful those icicles look. Nice of your Husband to make them for you.

I think it's nice that your husband makes icicles for you by running the sprinkler. It's too bad they're sticking around so long.

Darla~~ I'm having mixed emotions. I love the photos but I'm feeling rather melancholy about your plight. I suppose plants, like people need to have their boundaries tested once in awhile. Have you considered entering your photo[s] in the monthly photo contest?

Water and freezing temps make a great photo! I would have to say I am thankful that our water is not frozen in our creek as then the wildlife could not have a sip....

Wow, Darla - great pics. I guess it must be pretty dangerous under those trees with the spiky ice!

Congrats on the Headbanger win.

Wow, I love those ice pictures. Especially the bush with all the ice pointing in every direction.

Frozen layers never looked so good and stay around long enough to be admired before we tire of them. It use to be a tradition in our house to save the last one until winter came again the next season to be sure it would return.
