New Year Challenge...

As I was standing on the front porch this morning drinking my coffee (windchill factor 16) I was deeply impressed to offer a blogging challenge to all of you. As we post about our ups and downs with family, friends and gardening I am challenging each of
you to end your post with something that you are grateful for. We have many blessings around
us each and everyday that we often take for granted. If it's important to you, it's important

to the Lord. Please, will you join me?

Today I am grateful for Listening to the Lord and offering this challenge.

Oh Darla sweetie...
What a lovely challenge, and I do try to remember to be grateful, but I promise to do better. Thank you for reminding me.

Today I am so grateful for the birth of my youngest son. He was a blue baby when he was born, so he is my miracle baby. I have been blessed with his presence for 29 years today.

Thank you for the walk through your beautiful gardens. I love the photos. So beautiful.

Country hugs sweetie..>Sherry

Love the challenge Darla. I'll see what I can do with my post. As you can see I just haven't been in the posting mood. This will be good for me.

Bless you, Darla, for thinking of this neat way to make us stop and be thankful to God!

Lovely thought Darla but I can't participate. You see, each time we post on our blog we are showing how grateful we are for life-its ups and downs and everything in between. We share that gratefulness and passion with others so each post is a thank you for the blessings we have each and every day!:)

I did this challenge a while ago...it was called 30 days of contentment therapy...sure opens your eyes to the good things in life...even if it is just the fact that you don't wash all your million loads of laundry on a rock in a river! lol
I will try to get time today to do this...it has been a long time since I posted anything! your flowers still look good girl...my garden is getting snowed on again...it is WAY under there somewhere!!!

What a wonderful idea. As Tina has mentioned, when writing my posts for In the Garden, I always try to show the positive side of what can be negative things in the garden and in my daily life. Life is a blessing and we all have so much to be thankful for in our daily routines. Today, I must say I am grateful for the cold we are having outside. For not the cold, I may not be here typing right now!

Happy New Year, Darla. I truly hope that you and your family will be blessed in the coming year. I think that gratefulness and humility go hand in hand. In the tough times ahead we will be challenged to do our best for those who are struggling and less fortunate. Will we rise to the occasion?

Great idea Darla. So often we get so busy that we forget. I have many blessings to be grateful for. I will do so on my next post.

On cold days I dream of being your neighbor and being warm - but I also love the cold.

Darla, this is a great challenge, and I am trying to find the good in everyday things also.

I had a few minutes on the beach today, and although it was rather busy, I got to walk on the sand, and not just the promenade because the tide was out. A lesson in how to be fully alone, in a crowd of people.

I love that idea - every day I am grateful for so many things in my life! I think right now I am grateful for my family's health.
Happy New year to you Darla!

Hi Darla...I heard aboput your challenge over at Tootsies! Thankyou for this idea...well...it came from God...and I am wanting to participe with you as well. Even when terrible things are happening around you, and you are grieving, or suffering, you can always think of things that should bring you happiness or relief, etc.

I walked out to water my collards, and noted my beautiful Jasmine blooming on the fence with Morning Glories and Passionvine lacing in and through...and above the clear blue sky...and birds flying by. All simple, yet also gifts from God! We really are so blessed every day...we just have to take the time to notice! I am starting today!

What a pretty post today! It is good to remember to be grateful, it's so easy to get caught up in the negatives. I will accept your challenge! :)

Darla, I am inspired to say that I am so very grateful that I was able to buy a home that was easily adapted for wheelchair after I was injured, and that my employer held my job for me while I went through rehab. And, especially grateful that Ed came into my life and look beyond my disability to become my husband and helpmate.

Hi Darla,
I noticed you were saying things you are grateful for at the end of your posts. Yes, being connected to God through faith in Jesus is something to be grateful for.

Are your temps warming up? We are having highs in the 40s, which is a warm up here, but the nights are below freezing, and when it gets dark, the streets are getting slick from all the melting snow.

I am thankful our daughter is moved in to her new place, and we are almost finished cleaning her old place.
