FF and Plant ID Please...

It's time to join Tootsie and all of her friends at http://tootsietime.blogspot.com for Fertilizing and Flaunting Flowers and Plants.
First of all our neighbor brought us a bag of ? Some type of Spider Lily.?...he says it's taking over his garden bed like a ground cover. I know it's not the Walking Iris like I have.
The flowers are fairly insignificant.
Would probably make a nice hanging container....any ideas as to it's name?
Now to the Flaunting....sort of...
Carnation
BES Vine
Monarda with Rudbeckia
Amaranthus Joseph's Coat--see all the bug bites it has, grrr.
New to me this year is the Lord Baltimore Hibiscus...
Malva Zebrina is starting to give a good show...Thanks again Tootsie!
Randomness...garden hoses barely get rolled up this time of the year.
Jacobina has been slow this year.
A rooted Variegated Hydrangea from Ms. Doris Three Doors Down. I love the solid white of the foliage here.
'Fairy Coral Red' Abutilon is quickly gaining my affection. These photos do not do it justice at all. Full to Part Sun, 1 - 2', Blooms Spring until Fall and likes to dry between watering.
Zones 7b - 11

Have a beautiful Friday!

Today I am Thankful for YOU!

Love the quote at the beginning - cheers up - thanks you! I love to grow Abutilon as indoor plant here - very lovely flowers in the winter :)

Oh, how pretty. I really do like your flowers quite a lot. You are definitely in a different zone then I am. Such pretty plants.

Happy Flaunting Friday,
Susan

You mystery plant looks like a spider plant or airplane plant which I grow as a houseplant only.
I suppose it would creep along the ground with the runners.

Beautiful flowers as always!!

Happy gardening.

Your flowers are so pretty! I agree your mystery plant looks like a spider plant (a nice houseplant up here).

It's always nice to see what the flowers in your zone are doing. Very nice hibiscus!

Hi Darla, always fun to see what's growing in your garden. You usually have a few I can't grow in the north and rarely see.

I've seen Zebrina up here and like the looks of it. Maybe I'll try it next year.

Beautiful blooms today Darla as always. :) Glad Tina & GOSS were able to id your mystery plant, I've never seen the blooms on Spider plant before. They are so sweet. :)

we call it airplane plant or spider plant...it will spread like crazy....and makes a great hanging basket too...

Your flowers are looking great. Watering is a must this time of the year. I have a variegated airplane plant like that but my flowers are pink.

Yes, I agree, that is a spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum). My mom had a basket hanging from a tree, and it jumped to the ground somehow. Been spreadin' ever since. Seriously taking over. I told her she should pull it out, but she likes it. Pretty flowers you're flaunting. You can surely grow things up there that I can't, yet we are not so far away. We can't do the rudbeckia thing or the monarda, both plants I miss from my old Atlanta garden. We can do abutilon though! That is a pretty specimen. I need to find one of those.

Hi Darla, As usual, your flowers are fabulous. I especially like the Baltimore Hibiscus.. What a pretty color... And the Variegated Hydrangea is gorgeous....

Hope you and your family have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

I think you have many beautiful flowers to flaunt. I can imagine the workout your garden hoses are getting.

Malva Zebrina is beautiful. Pretty blooms. My garden is just a part of the yard. Move it for the mower and that's about it other than dragging to each garden.

I wish I could help with the mystery lily but I am not familiar with it.

I love the Lord Baltimore. I have yet to try it. I should put it on my list for next year.

Your Malva is beautiful. I used to have the Malva at my old house and it went crazy. I had it in an area where I allowed it to go wild. And that it did! I tried starting seed this year but 'no go'. Maybe I should have direct sowed it - oh well next year!

Have a great weekend!

I just read your post from yesterday and saw your new bed. You've been working really hard. The Jacobina reminds me of Monarda flowers. I love that Rudbeckia, they are next on my list of flowers to buy. I just have the plain ones right now. I love Abutilon and really wish it was hardy here, it's such pretty plant.

Hi Darla, I was just as curious as you were to find out what the 'mystery plant' was, and now I know! You have a wonderful selection of plants in your garden, love the malva, the hibiscus and the carnation only to mention a few. I hope you keep us posted on what you do with the new flower!

Yes, it look like a spider plant to me. I hope your elbow is feeling better!

Beautiful flowers and beautiful photos. Your garden must be a real joy.

I always love seeing your flowers. A lot of what you grow just doesn't make it here in my zone 9. I know what you mean about the hoses. I leave them strewn out and then notice them AFTER I take pictures. Same thing happens with my weed bucket.

Hi Darla! That hydrangea with white leaves is very cool! Amaranthus has all those bug bites, but still has wonderful colors.Have a great weekend!

Your garden is looking great! I love the Hibiscus.

And I am thankful for YOU, Darla-dear. Unfortunately I'm clueless as to the plant ID. I say, if it's a spreader, grow it in a container. I think it would look nice with the flowers cascading over the sides and when it's done blooming, the strappy foliage is still interesting to look at.

Kudos to Ms. DTDD. The hydrangea is awesome. 'Zebrina' has no rust. Whuz up wit dat? Love the 'Lord.' He sure knows how to flaunt!! Wait. That sounded weird, :)

Jacobina looks worth the wait and the Abutilon is a real winner. Have you heard of 'Nabob'? It's a cherry red and at home in my garden. Love the green-centered Susans.

My hoses are out and about too. Seems the only solution I can come up with is to steal or borrow Harry's invisibility cloak. I'm sure not going to roll them up all neat and tidy when they'll be needed in a few hours. Such quandaries.

I hope you see this comment. I saw your question on another blog about pruning climbers. If it has been answered, then forgive me for intrusion, but if not here is a link with some info. Clair Matin is the curator of the Huntington and an experienced rose grower. I hope it helps a little.
