Out Of Control!...and new plants..

While I've been away from blogging and gardening, my gardens are out of control!

The girls and I have still been painting in the house and making more curtains..I'll show our hard work later. For now, let's have a look around the yard.

There really is a path some where in here!

Between going to the hardware store and school supply shopping, I did manage to stop in at the nursery.
Gail at http://clayandlimestone.blogspot.com/ I am a little less green from my Phlox envy ........Phlox paniculata Nikki..does anyone know this one?
Look Betsy at http://betsyfromtennessee.blogspot.com ......I found a Hen and Chicks...
I am so excited about Mimosa strigulosa "Sunshine" Sensitive Plant....it's a ground cover and makes delicate pink pompons. If you touch the leaves they close up....I remember doing this in my Mom's gardens as a child...you treat like a roadside plant.....that's gotta be easy. Scientists believe the folding and drooping of the leaves upon touching or shaking is a defense from pedators, they prefer a plant with less movement.

I WILL be playing blog catch-up once the girls resume school on Monday morning...until then, have a great rest of your weekend!

Gosh Girlie, I've missed you this week. BUT--we ALL need a Blog break at times... I know that for sure!!!!

Glad you found some Semps. That is a BIG one... I'll be interested to see how he/she grows and spreads.

We've had alot of rain, so our weeds are growing also... (The weeds grow when nothing else will. Right?) Anyhow--your little cottage is just so cute. Sometime---give us a tour of the inside.. I'll bet you have it all fixed up!!!! I love the outside.

As usual, your yard looks GREAT.
Hugs,
Betsy

You say your garden is out of control, but I think it still looks good. If you want to see an out of control garden come up here to Tennessee!
Enjoy your weekend with the girls.

Your out of control garden is just as beautiful as can be!!! I am going to be doing some plant shopping...it seems blogging has forced my attention over to some perennials this year...and I think I might just try a few!

Your garden beds look so lush and full. I have gotten three Nikki purple phlox that I planted this week. I saw it in other blogs and loved the deep purple. I hope it has a good fragrance.

Your gardens don't look out of control to me, they look great! I love your little house too.

We were on the same wave length this morning, as I also wrote about the overgrowth of my gardens, which no way look as great as yours do.

From looking at those second two pictures Darla, I can tell you are right up the street from my daughter's new house. VF Road right? I spent yesterday over there watching my grandkids while my son-in-law mowed with his new John Deere. My grandson rode with him some and I got some great pictures! I might post one later this week.

Your place always looks so good Darla. Good looking hens and chicks plant. How many separate garden areas do you have? Some of them are very large it appears.

You are gardening at break neck speed. I like your new additions and yes, I've seen Nikki and she's a beauty.

Can't wait to see your curtains!

It's such a pleasure to browse through your blog. Your garden amazes me, I can almost smell the herbs! Your pictures are so real... I love your bugs (btw--we don't have cow ants in CA... haven't heard of them but love their name!). The caterpillar with stripes (forgot the name) looks like it came from a story book! Thanks so much for sharing it all.
Warmly,
Tracey
P. S. Oh my goodness, I know the feeling about the kids growing. My youngest will be a HS senior this year!! It was hard for a while (to give up the idea of them not needing you as they did when they were little) but I'm discovering that the grown-up phase has far less stress and much joy. xox

You said that your gardens are out of control. I don't think so. Your gardens are still amazing and always be. Seems like You put a hidden automatic machine on your backyard garden to organize all automatically, or may be you have many peri to do that whit their magic, lol. You are great, You can manage all perfectly. Thumbs up for You.
