Header Challenge

Challenge: Urban Decay --actually saw this in someone's yard...sigh
Visit all of the team players http://womtig.blogspot.com/ , http://beestonblog.blogspot.com/ , http://meandering-martha.blogspot.com/ and http://imac-photosfromthemindseye.blogspot.com/

My post has nothing to do with Urban Decay...visiting with my day aka "PaPa" (pawpaw)
He was teaching the girls how to use his lawn mower

and the trailer to dump raked leaves.

We love visiting my Dad...
He has the largest Loropetalum that I have ever seen.
About 20 feet tall.

The Cardinal's eat the cat food..

Bloomin' Tuesday...

Thank you Jean at http://msgreenthumbjean.blogspot.com/ for hosting the weekly Bloomin' Tuesday...drop by and see what other gardener's having blooming today.

Some of the blooms happening around my gardens/yard are..
Peaches...

I love these flowers.
Petunias
The entire containers of Nemesia are opening...drives me nuts when just one side blooms.

Calendula-Apricot

Alyssum--I had these growing in several hanging containers last year. It dropped seed and is now popping up everywhere. I transplanted at least 70 or so over the weekend...
The Dogwoods are beginning to bloom just in time for Easter...perfect!
Columbine from Rain Gardener
Loropetulam
Another Ranunculus this is a very hot pink...soon a yellow one will be opening. Some of you have asked how these do year round here. I planted the banana shaped bulbs last October for the first time, so I'll be watching to see if they return. Let me just say, these have been the longest blooming flowers I have encountered in a long time. It seems the longer they stay on the stem the bigger they get!
With all of the flowers on the trees, shrubs and plants come the dreaded although very important pollen. A quick stroll through the yard and this is what my feet looked like.

Today I am very Thankful that the kids and I cleaned all of the windows yesterday!

New Beginnings...

Ever wonder why the lining of your hanging containers disappear? The gardens are busy, busy this morning.

Mrs. Eastern Bluebird...

Mrs. House Wren

Plants are waking up pushing through the soil and setting buds.
Cornflower
African Daisy
Nasturtium
Nicotinia
Dinner Plate Dahlia
Cosmos
Firespike
Poppies, Purple Coneflowers, Alyssum, Vinca, Milkweed, Cornflowers and plenty other surprises I'm sure.
Looking up the hill from the center of the garden. The clump of green to the right of the plate is the Hotlips Salvia. To my surprise it stayed green all winter.
Petunias, Iris, Daylilies, Society Garlic
Verbena aka "Miss Prissy" around here is starting to put on a show.
I started these Snapdragons from seed many, many months ago...the hard freezes shut down the buds. Finally they are beginning to form and open.

Today I am Thankful for the Lord blessing my labor...
