Fertilizer Friday --

It's time to Fertilize and/or Flaunt those flowers, inside or out. Drop by http://tootsietime.blogspot.com/ to join the fun!
Impatiens are beginning to fill in. I'm standing at one end of the driveway looking up our front yard.
Lacecap Hydrangea--Thanks Ms. Doris!

A yellow Hollyhock.
Morning Glory
The lawn tractor in the background is a permanent fixture in the Full Sun Garden, more on that later.
One of my 4 wheelbarrows.
Glad
Senstive Plant--Mimosa Family.. This is a ground cover.
Stokes Aster
Calla Lily (ignore the truck in the background)
Coral Reef Sedum in a window box on the lattice.
Red Fountain Grass
Snapdragons are still hanging in..don't know how in mid 90 degree weather.
Question: Why do the Brugmansia blooms open white on Wedenesday evening..

and turn pink by Thursday morning?
Not sure which color I like the most.

Hopefully my wonderful husband has fixed my internet connection problems.

Today I am Thankful that the children only have one more week of school for this year!

Pretty glad. I've never seen a purple one before. The brugs are really neat to change their colors.

Those snapdragons are doing much more than just "hanging in", they are still popping! Such beauty in the brugmansia and the hydrangea blooms. Your driveway beds look very nice. Love it all.

I've never seen a brugsmansia do that before. How pretty!

Looking at these blooms makes me feel that my garden is far behind.I neeed to remind myself that your garden is in Florida! Very nice bed, Darla!

I really like all the potted plants tucked in with the white impatiens. I've never seen the bloom that goes white to pink before. Why??

Your hydrangea is beutiful. Love the brugmansia, the pink is the prettiest.

That Brugsmansia is pretty cool with the color changing blooms! Now I'm jealous, lol. ;P Everything is blooming and growing so beautifully in your garden. Don't envy those temps. It was pretty hot here yesterday, hottest day of the year so far, but I'm sure August will top it for sure. Have a nice weekend, I'm looking forward to school being out soon too.

I slowed down to take it all in coming up your drive. You sure have some gorgeous plants. I did not have luck with your gorgeous Lacecap, the Morning Glories are 2die4, and the Brugmansia is something else.

Gorgeous flowers! I love the bright blue planters -- such a great shock of color! And the red fountain grass is spectacular!

Love the Lacecap. Everything is wonderful. I can hardly wait until my Brug blooms. So many pretties happening now, it's hard to decide which is prettiest.

Darla, my brugs start out pale yellow and change to orange as the blooms age. In late fall, it's not uncommon to see many colors on the same plant. I think heat and humidity has something to do with it. And did you notice, they seem to always open around the full moon. Right on schedule. I guess I'll have to wait for the next one. I don't have buds yet.

Ready for a summer of fun??? And a lot of work! LOL.
I am planning to make lots of homemade ice cream this year with the grandkids here!!!
Loads of lovelies you have there (plants and flowers), Darla!!!

Hi Darla, Having internet problems is so frustrating... Almost as frustrating as not being able to walk!!! ha

Love your flowers... Some of our Roses start out one color and end up another. I think that is what makes them so interesting... Love both colors of your Brugmansia.

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Wow! You have so many beautiful flowers! I love that pink calla lily, I've been thinking of trying to grow them here, I'd like to try something other than the plain white ones. But I'm in zone 7, so I don't know if they'll do ok. Love the pink color on that brug. I have three cuttings that have been hanging in there since winter, I'm sure they would like some warm, sunny weather, but it is hard to come by here in the PNW.

Beautiful Darla! My granddaughter is turning 2 on Sunday and we are having a little luau birthday party for her tomorrow morning in my daughter's backyard. I hope the weather is nice!

Alea said...

Wow, it is all so lovely! You have many flowers blooming that I won't see for weeks, and in the case of the gladiolas perhaps months. I am definitely thinking a move to a warmer zone is in my future.:)

Angel said...

Well I guess you have the best of both worlds , a color changing Angel's Trumpet.. haha, I like the pink ( personally) either way , it's Gorgeous!, and the bed is so full and lush!I love Morning Glories mine are just starting.
Your Garden looks Wonderful!:) Have a great Holiday Weekend !

The impatiens sure have taken off. I love the morning glory. I'm still going to try starting some outside if it ever warms up here. I love the brugs too!

p.s. I love morning glories so I bought some and planted them along our fence. Well, they grew..and grew and I cut and trimmed, but the went under the fence, through the fence and into the neighbors huge cyprus trees and soon reached the top. The neighbors didn't know..but I did. I loved seeing those beautiful blue bloomes from kitchen window..but soon realized that the neighbors tree were in serious trouble...so $200.00 dollars later they were removed. It cost me that much to have someone take them out..now if I plant them it is somewhere that I can get on BOTH sides of the fence and control them. They are lovely but very invasive!
Any other suggestions as they also got into my shingles when I planted them where I thought I could control them. I could almost SEE them grow!
Hugs,
Mona

They all look lovely. My brug has not bloomed yet. It's supposed to be white. Seems it's not growing. I have a red Morning Glory. Anxious to save the seeds.
Have a wonderful weekend.

You certainly have many beautiful flowers to flaunt, and it looks as if you've done a good job of fertilizing them. I don't know which I like best, although I do like the way your impatiens are looking.

Grace Peterson said...

Pink, definitely!

Nice blossoms, Darla. They seem unphased by the heat.

I can't pick a favorite. I love them all! Our daturas, which I'm thinking are related to brugs, stay the same color. Do you know if they related?

My stokes asters are in bud. I'm just glad it's not winter.
