The Weekend...

Thanks to everyone for the 'Get Well' wishes and prayers for our oldest medium kid. The weekend was rough going for her.....it seems to have ended on a good note though. She came outside and sat on the porch with us for a little while yesterday evening and ate supper at the supper table!!!! Prayerfully she will be fever-free today and can return to school tomorrow. (Yep, this is how she was dressed to go to the Doctor last Friday)
Below are some random garden shots from a couple of my gardens.
On August 30 I planted some Candytuft, Aubrieta, Snapdragon and Grass Blue Fescue Seed and they have all sprouted.
September 12 I planted Common Chives, Garlic Chives, Red Hot Poker, Calendula, Poppy, Cornflower and Alyssum seed.
I also planted 37 Ranunculas bulbs on September 12. (Have about that many left to plant)
I also planted some Nasturtiam...........need to get the the nursery and pick up some pansies and petunias!!
It's about time to take out the Torenia and Potato Vines..
The youngest medium kid and I finally found Monarch Butterly Caterpillar eggs!!
We are trying to raise the eggs to the Caterpillar stage.
Here's their home for the next 3-5 days...............
We could not believe how tiny this caterpillar was.....seriously about as big as the very tip of a finger nail and it already has it's stripes.
So, here we go again. The only difference this time......if we are successful with the egg to caterpillar stage.....then we will have witnessed and helped the entire process!! We actually saw the Butterfly lay the eggs on Saturday...Of course my camera was not close by. Hopefully I will have another photo opp of that. Our Butterfly weeds are loaded with eggs and tiny caterpillars..

Bilbo is on his way to my gardens!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have been chasing this little dude all over the world. For those of you not familiar with Bilbo............keep checking back!

Bilbo and I have just been looking at where you live - I think you're living my dream and it'll be very different for Bilbo than his home this past week in Gloucester. Off to get him weighed and ready for his next adventure. cheerio, Nic

So glad your little one is feeling better. So cool that you're gonna have Bilbo! He sure gets around. Lovin the catapillar photos. Seems I'm always too busy to stop and appreciate the little things. So thank you for sharing your beautiful photos. It's a nice reminder to just slow down and enjoy life's litte miracles.

That old fashioned morning glory is my all time favorite flower. Love it.

So glad your daughter is getting better. My son woke up at 5 am on Saturday with a 102 fever so I know exactly how bad the flu can be. This flu thing moves fast and is really painful for folks affected. Yeah for the caterpillar eggs!

HI Darla, good news about your daughter. I'm glad it wasn't worse.

How lush those sweet potato vines are. I wish they grew that well up here, love them.

Your garden looks so nice.

TY for popping over ... don't you just wonder how our children/gr-kidlings will reflect on their childhoods, in this space aged speedy society? We had it so much better in so many ways ...

Good to hear about your daughter. Working at a clinic it was interesting to see what people would come in wearing.
Lucky you to still be able to do so much planting. I'm starting to pull a lot out now. The ranunculas are going to look so pretty.
Glad you finally get to have Bilbo there, you have been chasing him for awhile :)

Hi Darla, Glad your little gal is feeling better. Hopefully, none of the rest of the family will get that horrible flu.

Your garden looks great. Love the area where there is a bench... Beautiful.

We plant Pansies in late fall here. They will last throughout most of the winter IF it doesn't get too cold.

Stay healthy... Glad Bilbo is going to visit.

I am just flooded with so many different butterflies, and it is just wonderful to sit and admire them. Aren't we so very lucky? Can't wait to see Bilbo, the little dickens. I'm jealous! Pat his head for me will you?

That's good news, Darla, about your dear child getting better. The flip flops are pretty cute though. Your garden seems to be entering a new phase with all the seeds sprouting. Good deal on the butterfly eggs. That little miniature catt is too cute! :-)

Oh yea! You are getting Bilbo--that's wonderful.

Your butterfly adventures are fun to follow. Those are itty bitty eggs and I had to take a magnifying glass out to see mine. You know my eyes don't see too good. I had to be careful not to burn a hole in the leaf with the magnification and the sun beaming down. It was kinda funny. Would have made a good video.
