Wednesday Words...Pregnant Onion

My Pregnant Onion Plant has babies....
Only the mature Onions will flower...tiny white or sometimes yellow flowers. See the little buds?
Have you heard of this plant before...? I have had them around so long I often over look their uniqueness... Thanks Jen at http://muddybootdreams.blogspot.com for hosting Wednesday Words.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hey! I've got one of those. I found them years ago, loved them then, love them now.

Good Morning, Darla!
I've never heard of this plant. You have some really unique ones, but then, you have one of every kind, I think!
I bought Pansies yesterday and will plant them today when it warms up a little outside. It was 44 degrees here this morning. Happy day to you!

Darla your a momma of a brood of onions ;-) That is a new plant to my eyes. I see so many plants I have never heard of before. I left a comment for you on my blog about hanging the geraniums by their roots to answer your question.

Hi Darla, LOL I'm sure I've seen your first sentence on the cover of the National Inquirer while waiting in the supermarket checkout line. Not really but it sure got my attention;)

I've never seen anything like that! I hope you threw it a shower - that's certainly as good a reason as any to have snacks and party food. I'm glad you shared that because I've got a geranium that I'm thinking's been hanging around a rose bush too much and I'm wondering... Have a great day ~ ♥

My Dad used to have onions like that in his garden. It definitely is an interesting plant.

I don't think I have ever seen that before Darla. How neat!

That onion with her babies reminded me of our Semps (Hens and chicks)... The female has tons of babies ---coming out all directions. Then she sprouts, blooms and dies. (Don't know where the men are in this process!!!! ha ha ha)

I have no idea what your other plant is. Hope you find out. Ask Meems..
Hugs,
Betsy

That is so unusual--but Darla--your dirt is so black and healthy who wouldn't get pregnant in that.

Very cool, I have never seen or heard of it before..after it flowers is it OK? Like Betsy said, the hens and chicks that flower in a most "male" way.. croak..isn't the plant world interesting! :)

I have never seen this before. My mother used to allow some of her onions to set seed. And there would be this big ball of seeds on top. She saved them to plant the following year.
